you can reuse the old washer, if its cooper. Add heat to the washer, when warm join to the bolt and tighten

Wild that the filter didn't come with a washer, I've never bought one that didn't include it in the box so I'd have no idea I needed to order it separately.

Also check the oil level on the dipstick once the car is level on the ground and not with the front raised on jack stands, it makes a big difference.

moar horses!!! but yeah, i used to use the jack stands but hen i got ramps and everything became way easier for an oil change. also dont forget to reset the oil life thing that way it doesnt go off soon after the change confusing everyone.
