The Vevor is junk if you use it a lot, which I did. The physics of the unit is quite good, especially after watching the videos on Minneer, which looks identical, but the lousy english translation is vexxing. All the wetted parts are stainless, so it is as advertised. After experiementing the cream screw I could make any cream I wanted. HOWEVER, once the warranty ran out, the machine went belly up. The problem was that the filter/motor assembly lost its alignment. The motor would drop so low the skim and cream vents from the filter no longer aligned with their trays. Customer service stank. I was constantly harased to make a video of the machine not working. A still picture would have been fine since nothing would move. Since they would never give me a person to talk to, I figured it was AI or they wanted to be so difficult I would tire of trying to get the machine repaired. I finally gave up, and I was glad I had spent less than $200 for lousy machine. Reliability is it main problem and their lousy customer service it the other. The current machine lacks all the early issues. Potentially, if they fix all the problems, it would be the best deal on the market. The other problem the machine has is its two-piece float, which you must separate to get trapped milk out of the float. Why they did not use a one-piece design is beyond me since it is a constant threat to hygiene and cleanliness of the system.

❤🎉I raised goats for 20 years. Mine all wore collars too. Get a lead rope and take them out one at a time or 2 at a time with 2 people and teach them to walk on a lead rope! Much easier for all involved. I had boar for meat, nubians for milk and 2 angoras for fiber. I spin and made cheeses. All the goats had to be handled to shear, trim hooves or milk. It's so much easier to snap on a lead rope and safely walk them to your task. Or, just go on a really fun walk!

Just discovered your page and LOVE IT! Your honesty is refreshing. I’m an 80 year old who spent more than 60 years farming on a part time basis. Loved every minute of it, even though it was physically hard work that had its share of emotional lows. Keep up the great job.

Another great catch. That is a huge colony. I wonder how many queens are in it.
@SweetBriarFarmMichigan27 күн бұрын
Should just be one queen. She will leave the hive with a large portion of the bees but leaves behind eggs for the hive to make a new queen.

How far do they travel for nectar?
@SweetBriarFarmMichigan27 күн бұрын
Anywhere from 5-8 miles. With the alfalfa fields around us they don’t have to go far. One of the biggest nectar flows is basswood trees which blossom late June early July. We have a big basswood in the front yard and when it flowers that tree is buzzing!

@SolarSolaceFarms28 күн бұрын
Am I wrong in saying that it seems like the original Dexter is a different animal than what everyone these days are breeding for? The original Dexter’s were a higher percentage of horned weren’t they? Art you still looking to keep a trypurpose animal?
@SweetBriarFarmMichigan28 күн бұрын
We are breeding for the dual purpose of meat and milk. Dexters are traditionally horned and the polled genetics are derived from a bull Salitare Platinum back in the 80s I believe. The origins of the polled genetics are debated and one we don’t care to dive into. Breeders breed for the traits that they favor. Our friends at Two men and a Hen farm for example breed horned dexters. We have nothing against what others are doing, we choose to breed polled. Certainly the breed has changed over generations certain genetic lines are beefier than others.

Awesome information.. I've been considering a breeding pair of Dexter's to start a beef and dairy (multi-purpose) for our small homestead.. Question out of curiosity.. is the Dexter bull tall enough to breed your Jersey..??
@SweetBriarFarmMichiganАй бұрын
Yes he is. Our Jersey calves with her first calf a few weeks ago. He is shown on a video we posted yesterday.
