I personally don't feel that DEEE-LITE gets the recognition they deserve as performers and ground breaking song writers. Literally every modern female fronted singer/dance act today uses full vocal backing tracks, using the excuse that because they dance, they can't also sing. I'm talking Madonna, Britney Spears, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez and tons more. Lady Miss Kier is singing and dancing and you can tell it's live. Today's musician's are LAZY! Deee-Lite delivered the goods as total professionals. Today's acts pale in comparison.

I used to watch Solid Gold religiously as a young child, and I had a strong desire to become a Solid Gold dancer when I grew up. It was my biggest dream at that time. I was around 11 years old when the episode aired, and I used to put on shows for my parents' friends and family members. However, when my parents separated, my mom's boyfriend treated me harshly. Whenever I danced or showed any "gay shit," I faced verbal and sometimes physical abuse. As a result, I never pursued any dance or vocal work. I took drama class in school, but I discovered that I have crippling stage fright, likely due to the abuse I endured. If you have an artistic child who shows an interest in the arts, it's important to encourage and support them wholeheartedly. Sorry for the diatribe lol
