His father was a music teacher and in his youth he was a member of an Air Force band as a trumpeter. I don't know if he ever played in an orchestra, but he probably has.

Excellent drummer. His work on True North was outstanding but whenever I have seen him on drum cams lately he still plays very well but the music is a little boring. He needs to regain that fire he had sitting in for Josh Freese and later with Suicidal Tendencies.

Yeah and besides Suicidal he has played with many great and prominent bands as well. Bad Religion, Tenacius D, Infectious Grooves and more recently with Avenged Sevenfold. The guy's "curriculum" is excellent. Definitely one of the best in the world.

I wasn’t the big fan of this either, but I know what’s he’s capable of his drumming on the stage album for example is phenomenal. Something tells me he just kept this simple probably since it was a tribute to his dad.

@@georgeramos2176I wouldn't say that, there certainly were plenty of standout tracks where he showed his chops within a simple punk structure like in Sinister Rouge, Submission Complete, Who We Are, etc. It would have been goofy if he was going for polyrhythms and Rush-style prog in that band, he played for the song and still put in plenty of his own signature flourishes.
