It's beyond me how England are a top 5 nation. England women won the French in their last match and are below them in the rankings. The match last night was a JOKE 😅😂

Let's be real, the English media dictates who is picked. Southgate probably would live pick that Alfie lad from Luton Town, but media snobbery would pile the pressure on him. And he has the same problem that just like Eriksson and Capello, he is contractually obliged to pick the grandee players like Rooney, Gerrard, Lampard, Becks, Terry, Ashley Cole & Ferdinand. Now it's Kane, Jude, Foden and Saka. And did Gareth actually wanted to take Palmer? I'd rather go home in the last 16 rather than delay the inevitable until the semis.

England are not firing on all cylinders that's clear... but it was better.. it's not easy when the other side sticks 10 men behind the ball for the whole game.. it will be a different game against a top nation... Holland on Sunday looks like?... tough game for England but Holland will be thinking the same to be fair

Mentality issue. England thrive as underdogs when no-one expects anything like EU 2012 (Andy Carroll 😂), 2018 WC & EU 2020. I can guarantee none of the players will commit a red card offence like you see with the Italians, Croats and Germans because no one has any personality nor leadership. As for Southgate, viagra couldn’t inviagorate him. The players look scared to make a mistake, particularly with Southgate refusing to play Mainoo, Wharton or Gomez because he doesn't want to do some actual coaching. Literally everyone is frightened of receiving the Beckham 98 treatment or the Euro 2020 penalty fallout. That final has scarred Southgate and his main players almost permanently. I was laughing towards the end. I can't get angry anymore.

For me id leave saka in on the left as hes incredible for england at times and has good work rate down his side. Palmer can come in his position as a super sub to scare the opposition when theyre tired and drag their formation open as his energy and passing precision today impressed me a lot and im not a palmer fan. Gordon to start on the left. And i hate to say it but foden or bellingham only one can be central. Maybe bellingham to start for his energy to make the opposition pull back rather than press us and then foden in the later minutes as a precision passer. Mainoo now for me has to start in midfield. Trent could also be a sub for walker towards the end of the game if were struggling to get through but hes been very nervy these last few games so im not sure. Everyone at the back has been top other than trippier being the obvious weak point for opponents to exploit but i still think hes played well at times. Were missing shaw massively he can open play on the wings as a left footer and bring more into play. I think after his subs southgate will have his answers now as gordon palmer and mainoo all made a difference in the last part of the game. We need width with wingers due to lack of 2 pressing full backs we only have 1 at the moment. Hopefully hell see that going into the knockout stages and well have a "lets have it" game. I havent lost hope these have just been nervy games with experimentation hopefully southgate has his final starting 11 now. Top vid mate looking forward to the next one. ITS COMING HOME ❤

How many of the teams here had breaks in their league season while England and Scotland didn't!!!!! Yes, they are professionals and the best for their country but we forget they are also human beings and not robots or AI androids that don't get tired and fatigued after a long season unlike humans!!!!

The problem England have are their tolerant fanbase. The fans now need to boycott the upcoming game and protest outside the FA’s headquarters until the FA are forced to pick a top manager.

Not sure a boycott could ever be achieved unless England start failing to qualify for tournaments regualrly like Ireland. Netherlands and Italy DNQ for Euro 2016, 2018 WC and 2022 WC, but their fans remain loyal😊

I would start with the same back four, but if England are doing well put Walker at centre back and bring on Trent for right back in the second half. I would have Gordon on the left, Rice and Mainoo in midfield, and again, if England are doing well, later on I'd put Bellingham into midfield and bring Foden on in his preferred position. I think Saka has done better than some are giving him credit for, but I do want to see Palmer come on for him at some point in this match. And if Rice has another mare bring on Wharton! My prediction is for Slovenia to score first, and finally jolt England into gear, with it finishing 3-1. The goals will be failry simple, but it'll be a 6/10 rather than a 3/10 performance, and I think we'd all take that progress right now.

I guess the biggest positive I can take from it so far is that England have been abysmal and are still top of the group with 4 points. Imagine what they'll be like if they start playing well! They have to start though, that's the only thing...

England did better with average players like Alli, Lingard and Mount. Losing Maguire, Coady and Hendo is key in the dressing room because they stopped certain characters clashing. Tbf Southgate was handed major headache with his preferred players having a dreadful season and lots lf youngsters playing out of their skin. It requires a genuine top manager to keep a lot of egos satisfied, so whoever replaces Gareth needs to address what to do with Kane, Saka, Jude, Foden, Rice and mamy other players.

I’ll tell you this Gary, we will know for sure absolutely 100% how the rest of this tournament will go for us about 30 minutes into this game. If it’s more of the same we will be looking at a QF exit at best , if on the other hand we can ‘click’ then it could be another deep run. International tournaments are littered with teams who had a poor group stage then suddenly burst into life. Like I said 30 minutes and I think we will know our fate 🏴

Absolutely no confidence at all. Theres no way we’ll solve this issue in a few days when we’ve been doing this since 2018 World Cup. Southgate is our downfall and always has been. I’m just so surprised that the media and pundits finally started to criticise him more for his lack of tactics. Honestly I think we’ll get knocked out of the R016. That’s how bad we are.

What's annoying is that not a lot needed to be done from the World Cup. Guehi has been better than we expected as a replacement for Magurie, all he needed to do was to choose a replacement for Henderson from Mainoo, Wharton, or Gallagher.
