The developer said the snes version was the most difficult port, that's why it took 5 year's. The snes cpu is so slow, they had to make a custom PCB with a co-proceseor on it. The snes version has the most flicker and glitches. Ha ha

I prefer to play games of this style on the Snes controller, which is much better than the Mega Drive controller for this style of game. And why did you answer me the same thing with two different accounts? If the Mega Drive version is so superior, why do you need to create several fakes to attack the Super Nintendo version?

@@papelhienico With what you save by buying the version of Mega Drive without an additional chip, you can buy bluetooth adapters for Xbox controllers for Mega Drive and map the buttons on the 2 analog joysticks or buy 2 generic MD controllers with the cross buttons. The MD version does not need to spend as much on the cartridge as it does not need a Dreamcast coprocessor to run the game.

MSU-1 chip was used.

how so? the snes version has more WAY more voices, fog, rain, and you can roll while holding the shoot button, which is huge. a little easier as well. i've played both and the snes version is better imo, by a good amount

Taking into account that Mega has its limitations, this SNES version left something to be desired; used special chip; the transparency effects, in my opinion, were not cool; not to mention the poor resolution on this console. Maybe the only advantage of the SNES is in the gameplay itself, but I don't know, because I haven't played this version yet. So, I prefer the Mega version!

it also has rain in level 5. i don't think it's harder from what i've played so far. furthest i got in the switch version playing a few hours was right at the boss of level 5 and died right away(4 or 5 months ago is the last time i played xc until now) furthest i've got in this snes version playing only an hour total is almost to the end of level 6, and i was 1 point shy of getting another continue before i started the level, so i went into level 6 with just 1 continue. doesn't seem to be harder so far, possibly slightly easier but to soon to tell. i have less than 5 hours of playtime with the game total across the switch, snes, and genesis. so far the best i've done is the snes version, and it's really good so far. you'd think with 2 tiles of space missing from each side of the screen that there would be no way i'd do better in this version, and nowhere to dodge, but somehow they made it pretty fair. can't pinpoint what they did to offset that yet though

I am lucky to have played and beaten the MD, Dreamcast, Evercade and NeoGeo versions at their maximum difficulty, which is why I mention the higher difficulty (I have also been able to beat this version). If we focus only on the randomness of the appearance of enemies in the middle of the map, logically since there is less playable area, it is more likely that they will appear right at the point where the player is (min 10:59) Every time a new room presents a north and south entrance and exit, there are no "safe points" where to position the character, the right and left sides were already a threat in versions with higher resolution, here the problem worsens. And this also makes survival mode (where there are ALWAYS 4 entrances and exits, one in each cardinal point) unplayable. The feeling of "drowning" is very pronounced here. They haven't changed the speed or pattern of any enemies, if you let them pile up for a few seconds the screen fills up quickly and there is less room to maneuver. And if we talk about the artistic section, my TV does not have the possibility of seeing the game in pixel perfect with the 8:7 aspect ratio. So playing it on a 4:3 screen just shows the graphics greatly stretched/warped. Not to mention that bosses like Cthulu or Shima stand out above the map itself, showing a vague and poorly integrated finish. For some reason, the font size of the letters is much smaller on SNES than other versions. The large letters of "Game Over" or when they present the boss's name is much smaller. This takes away the feeling of playing a truly arcade game where it was customary to see "Fight!", "Game Over", "GO!", "Boss Battle!", "Continue?" with big, bold letters. I recommend playing it in doubles, being able to resurrect your partner helps greatly, and as I mentioned, in this version in this 2-player mode, flickering is very present, which is also pronounced in this version more than in any other.

@@allbundy432 i made it halfway through the last level in the snes version, in about the same amount of time i only made it to the level 5 boss in the switch version 5 months ago(about 2 hours). you'd know which one is harder way more than me. but thus far i'm better at the snes one than i was at the switch port. i'm pretty darn happy with this port (even though they probably should have slowed some enemies down and the projectiles, and have them take less hits to kill, etc, if they didn't already, to make up for the missing screen size) not broken in my opinion, but maybe on hard it is way harder than the other ports, i dunno

beat the game on easy with 2 or 3 continues left. i think i used 3 total. hadn't played it for 2 days, then the first try this morning after work i played really well and beat it, bad ending, but i'll take it. never been so happy to drop dead. yea, i really love this port. didn't die until level 6. i think that's what people should shoot for if you want a good chance to finish it off. i think i have about 3 hours playtime total into this version,. 9/10. might try and beat it on easy on switch soon, to see if i think it's easier, harder, or about the same fair solid challenge! i like the difficulty(on easy)i think the game is far more fair than Smash Tv, at least on easy mode. Smash Tv i stand no chance of beating it, no matter what difficulty, unless i use codes. easy only gives you level 1. this at least lets to beat it with a bad ending on easy, and see all the levels, just not the final boss. i like smash tv, but you gotta be an absolute game wizard to beat it

Gows games falou que top 3 tinha slowdowns mas Road Rash que roda a 8fps que jogo maravilhoso. MUITOS CRIADORES DE CONTEUDO DA SEGA MENTEM . Falam a Resoluçao menor ateapalha , falo os 0tarios que jogaram Mortal Kombat com Controle de 3 botao. Com Audio e Cores pareciam um master sistem.

Xenocrisis is nearly a half decade old game at this point, and this snes version was only made possible via enhancement chip, the snes is behind the modern curb and basically in the gutter of the independent games scene. The smug snes fanbase has made fun of the genesis hardware limitations far enough, and now it's payback time 🙂

You are over looking the big picture here, the snes is in the gutter of the 16-bit after market game's scene, it got xenocrisis 5 year's after the fact. This is really something to see since the smug snes fan base was sure it was the superior console and would surely hold up in modern time's far better, but as we can see it's clearly the opposite.

I find the colours to be much more vibrant and the pixels quite a bit sharper, the sharpness is either a good thing or bad thing depending on how you like things upscaled

ugly like ur mumma I remember seeing a demo of it at Gen Con in 1995, it was kinda ahead of everything on the market. We then saw that demo in the film Hackers.

And Wipeout series has the best OST on the console.
