Addition to step one, pick your team wisely, some groups are less then the sum of their parts. I recently tried to make a week long jam in a group and despite me trying to organize the group, the teaM was more or less radio silent and made nothing up unto the due date and we barely had so much a concept in place (admittedly i gave up after a few days of trying to organize the team). It was like college group projects all over again. Which is funny cause first time i did a group jam it went swiwmmingly dispite being less experianced and in only 48 hours.
@SuperStudiosMedia2 ай бұрын
yeah that's very true, I've been in that situation in pretty much every game jam I've been in with a team, usually I just carry because I'm so used to working alone. However recently I joined an in person game jam where I was on a team with people all around the same level as me and just as motivated as well. It was the best feeling I've had during game development.

Bro this editing is actually so fucking good, can you be my sensei?
@SuperStudiosMedia2 ай бұрын
Thanks! Sensei department is on the case 😎, I can drop some knowledge but I can only really give advice on how to edit like me. I've been editing and making videos for years but i've really seen some rapid improvement recently and why i reckon the reason is, is that when this channel started I just made a fuck tonne of shit posts on shorts. I made at least 1 short every day (on 1 day I peaked and made like 8), I'd probably spend 20 minutes - 3 hours on them, just cranking them out, and my focus was to make 1 "nice" bit, or evoke 1 feeling, usually that feeling would be "impact". I would do that every day and every time I would try something different even if it was small for example, using more sound effects, speed ramping, using more visual effects, etc. Eventually I got really fast and really good at making shit posts, and the reason I think shorts were really good for me is because the barrier for a finished video is really close, making videos is more fun when you finish them constantly / effortlessly, and they don't even have to be that good to get views. All those skills translated into long form content and I became a lot better over all in a pretty short period of time. How you apply this advice is up to you, I'm pretty sure your shorts audience is different to your long form audience, so I reserve shorts as a place to post whatever trash I want and I experiment loads. tl;dr make lots of shit, iterate on that shit, and don't worry that it IS shit. That's the end of my fuckin' essay, I hope it's helpful and I wish you good luck bro 😘

lol idk i was with the vid for the first 3 mins XD funniest shit i've seen in a minute on here LOL. Then they got to serious and idk man like, I just felt like it just wasn't cookin like it was in the first 3 maybe like even 4 minutes. Still watched it tho XD you right that editting is like pretty high tier, definitely not the standard of a 440 sub channel, more like 500 subs or maybe even more. honestly i think they're sound design is even more impressiving to me. Honestly like it's actually pretty crazy how they could cook the steak, and the roast like that. It doesn't really make sense to me hwo these guys only have 440 subs? like again and a gain even if it takes a few months like i been following them for quite a while now and it's like srs guys? lol? fr only cooked with this many subs? honestly if i was in tehre position i woud probably just cook myself and let it cook lol. Like why have a pece of bread when u can have the wole bakery you now what i'm saying? anyway long story short these guys cookin frfr honestly i liked the first 3 minute like srs. but to be honest after that i was stil llike way better then 440 subs like at least 500 maybe even 550+ subs or something but defeinitely these guys (or girls?) definetly hav some relly big potentiol. Anyway i'm saktin outta here frfr gotta hit diamon d on rocket league idk if u kno that game but been grinding for a while now prety close to it no dobt. anyway yeah super good vid idk tho. anyway wanna play or something party up idk what region ur from but iv played with ping befor so it's probably not an problem to b honest lol xXD. so yea thats my too sentes. on it.

You can add a particles sprite earlier to the character scene. Then disable visibility and in script turning on and play animation. When animation is over, disable.

you're wrong you can make a node a child of any other node you have or can get a reference too.
@BetaTester7046 ай бұрын
You can set the property to top_level It doesn't inherit properties from the parent nodes.
@jesusmora93796 ай бұрын
2:24 you can also use add_sibling() and add a node to the parent of the current node.
@BLVCKVAGABOND6 ай бұрын
Instantiating a node is not nearly as complicated as you made it out to be in godot lol you can just go up the tree and add it wherever you like. But otherwise good vid man.

Umm, once you instantiate it, you can get just add it to the scene tree whereever youd like. ie get_tree().root.add_node(instantied_node) or get_tree().get_node("/main/").add_child(instantied_node) or myothernode.add_child(instantied_node)

I also had to turn down the volume because your sound effects were too loud. I was watching it with a system that had a dedicate sub, just in case you find some people complaining about it and others saying it's fine.

@stephenharperisgay6 ай бұрын
Which you might not always want to do because it'll be super disorganized, plus node inheritance matters often enough. Though for particle effects related to the player you probably want it as a child anyways so it's positioning is relative to your player.
