Somehow people from other countries doesn't even realize that how limited the resources/amount of players Finland have compared to other big ice hockey countries. BUT if you look the biggest candidates for Stanley cup winner this year people maybe realize the common factor between them which is 1st line centers and which country they are from: Hintz, Aho, Barkov, but also that there are alot of Finnish players. Another thing is that Finnish players prioritize 2-way game over points.

@MaiettaSportsMedia6 күн бұрын
Yep I think so
@UNTrumpet6 күн бұрын
I don’t understand why people think Makar is a better defenseman than Miro. Sure he’s played well offensively for a couple of years, but his defense is nowhere near Miro’s. And Makar has never beaten Miro in a head to head playoff matchup. And for all that “incredible offense” Miro is only 5 points behind him in the playoffs (which is when it really matters). I’d take Miro over Makar for his TRULY two way play instead of the bs Makar pawns off as two way play. He’s basically just another offensive minded forward who can skate backwards.
@mortaljorma696 күн бұрын
Miro is better at defending than Makar and Hughes. Only reason he does not have similar points is that he is committed to play defense first. That's one of the reasons why he is playing and the others are golfing.
@avrellflagg3106 күн бұрын
Makar's insane powerhouse in offense. Is he as complete a D as Heiskanen though? Heiskanen can produce in offense AND is a true elite in defense as well.

Update: Vancouver wants to get rid of him. He is way to expensive. Besides that, everyone plays good with Hughes, without him, Hronek doesnt shine at all. Playoff results arent great at all. So ... Good decision to get rid of him.
@baiqi4412 күн бұрын
He was good, but he had a major weakness that prevented him from stealing games like Demko would. Silovs has trouble with long distance shots as he's not always good at tracking the puck from a distance. He's good at keeping the Canucks in games, but not good at stealing them. Bubble Demko stole playoff games for Vancouver and that's why the Knights players had incredible respect for Demko during their handshake moment at the end of that series. I didn't see this from Oilers players for Silovs in their handshake moment. Silovs is still a very good goalie, but he needs to improve his tracking skills from a distance before he can get to the next level. But, this is why you have a difference (because of 1 or more flaws) between a very good goalie and goalies like Hasek, Roy, Brodeur and the like.
