One thing to try too if you haven't already (9 months late to this party and my 2024 5.0 has started ticking as well after oil change at 4k miles) is Liqui Moly Ceratec. I have read so many testimonials on forums and youtube videos of people dumping1-2 bottles of that stuff into the engine and it clears the tick right up. Haven't tried it myself as I am going to the dealership tomorrow to document the ticking noise so they can't pull anything on me down the road if it does happen to break something. Going to try and live with it for now as I have heard others say that it goes away by itself after about 1k miles after oil change. Time will tell though. Does yours seem to speed up too as you accelerate from a stop until about 2k rpms? That's what mine does and then it gets drowned out by glorious V8 noises.

Yes it’s most noticeable in confined areas where noise echoes ..but gone after 2k rpm’s ..mine opinion after owning many mustangs and chargers ..it sounds like sh*t ..sorry @ $54k I would expect more

This is the famous coyote tick. Add 1 bottle of ceretec liquid molly with every oil change, and you won't hear it again.

This is not injectors. Injectors have an even/repeating sound. The BBQ tick is random. It's piston slap once the block warms up and grows with heat. The pistons get looser and slap on the cylinder wall. My 2002 happened after fisrt oil change. IT's BAD. The tech who performed the oil change mensioned it too.

That's your fuel injectors! My buddy has a supercharged z06 vette and he even said that's normal. If it doesn't do that, they aren't working. I have an SN95 and an S197 that both do that. If I shove my head under the tire there's a slight tick. Listen to how quiet it is when you stand next to your door. You can hardly hear the engine is even idling under there(you can mainly only hear the exhaust at this point). That tells you nothing is wrong. When it fuxkin ticks when you walk 20 feet away or 40 feet away, and/or out of the exhaust, THEN you have the lifter tick. I already fixed that issue once on the '07, and if yours had an actual tick, you'd be horrified like I was... you'd know it.

@@mv5586 Checked the manual on the car's touch screen by searching "breaking-in" and it says, "Your vehicle requires a break-in period. For the first 1,000 mi (1,600 km), avoid driving at high speeds, heavy braking, aggressive shifting or using your vehicle to tow." The manual I found from the Ford site using the VIN only mentions breaking-in new tires for some reason. Been driving the 10 speed in track and it downshifts pretty aggressively. Hopefully that doesn't count as "aggressive shifting." lol, oh well.

The only break in period the 2024 manual states is for the tires and it’s for the first 300 miles This is the only thing I found .. Your vehicle requires a break-in period. Drive your new vehicle at least 100 mi (160 km) before performing extended wide open throttle maneuvers

Bro do yourself a big favor and install it back on please. That thing is there for a reason. You have coolers, lines and wires under there. It is not only for drag or mpg, but also protects the wiring and lines and coolers under there. You gonna end up with damaged parts real quick or even worse rusted parts. You're asking for trouble if you keep it off. Even trucks have them and they are not the most aerodynamic or effecient vehicles and they are meant for protection. One small stone chip to a line and you're done.

Totally normal, I've worked on endless vehicles and hear this all the time. If the sound goes away with the clutch in then it's clutch noise, common and normal. Injector noise, a lot of newer dual injected vehicles are noisy. Direct Injection is already noisy due to the higher operating fuel pressures.

I am OLD SCHOOL and the purpose of the early oil change is to remove any shavings or debris left behind from the break in period. A brand new engine properly set up will cough up minute particles left from assembly. Its best to dump the oil and change the filter. A wise mechanic once told me OIL "It's the cheapest thing you can put into your engine" When my 2024 arrives I'll put 500 miles on her and the oil and filter are history.

My 22 GT started that at less than 300 miles. It also has the 2k rattle. Documented both with the dealer. They came back with they are normal characteristics of the engine and no detection of oil consumption. It does quiet down when it's all warmed up. It's annoying but I'm keeping an eye on the oil and drive the hell out of it!!!😂😂😂
