Yes it can, did you connect everything back? Example : if the fuel injector is not working the spark plug is not burning any gas. The same thing if the fuel injector is bad. What code are u getting?

@@grgortiz1401In my case there is no CEL light and no codes.I am noticing significant acceleration issues so was thinking if I should replace the fuel injectors.

Today I'm going to change the gasket. Thank you for always helping. I have a question, I already change the timing belt once but I'm not sure about the timing part. I want to change the front crankshaft seal. Do I have to do every step like changing the timing belt? And how to I keep the crankshaft from moving?

Could I just loose the tensioner with out removing everything else? That way the timing belt will be loose

@@grgortiz1401 whatever way works best for you. I remove everything so that I can see everything. You can leave the engine mount in place, remove upper & lower timing belt cover. Set engine to TDC #1 (mark one of the crank gear teeth amd make a mark on the engine where the marked tooth is (so that you can turn the crankshaft back to the tdc position if the crank happens to move),.. loosen the timing belt. Once loose you can remove it from the crank gear and pull the belt up and secure it so that it does not fall down. ***Loosen the crank gear bolt before you remove the timing belt!*** (the 19mm twelve point bolt).

@@grgortiz1401 If the clutch is slipping that much... there should be a smell from the transmission / clutch. Smells similar to a dead mouse or rat that is decomposing. Depending on the type of clutch / flywheel and where you get it done (hourly labor rate is different from shop to shop). Could be as cheap as $700 to $1500+.

@@EXOVCDS it doesnt smell, when it started doing I could still drive it but now its realy anoying on the freeway, ive been working on my beetle but i dont have codes so thats why i didnt know where to start cause the engine sounds good and the transmission too. Ive change the sparkplugs and the oil, air filter, transmission oil, new gas filter, new gaspump. (I change all of does things cause it had codes but with this it didnt)
