The music is really good and your Lenco is a real treat. Well, I'm a valve amplification freak and an even bigger Lenco idler drive turntables one. I've been buying Lenco Idlers for over 50 years and now, in your footsteps, I'm going to buy and install what you taught me about this fantastic speed control equipment system. I can't ever thank you enough for your teachings. I´ll let you know about my pursuit of Lenco's perfect sound. I´ll be also happy to share with you pics of my turntable collection, including my 20 plus LENCOs. Thanks for sharing and best regards from peaceful and sunny Portugal, Mário

It's an interesting sound. I prefer a more dead sounding room myself and get whatever reverb is on the recording. Live sound can be intriguing for many music types though.

Hi, sounds great, I see you've changed the plinth on your Lenco and added a second arm, very nice. I'm almost ready to reassemble my L75 after some plate hole changes and refinishing my plinth. Will install a new Jelco 850. Possible that I might need to go double platter or at least some type of mat. Not sure of the implications for my spindle. Curious what exactly was involved in your double platter conversion. Thanks!
@goo4tube
@goo4tube 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mark, for stacking 2 platters you will need a damping ring for the top platter, and I use this one that fits the height of the Lenco platter perfectly: www.ebay.com/itm/SRM-TECH-PLATTER-DAMPING-RING-19mm-MODEL-/274315492888?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0 Next is a longer / higher spindle, that will accommodate 2 platters plus any Turntable mat and Puck you may use. This seller from the UK makes a perfectly machined spindle for stacking and check out his other items for isolation like footers www.ebay.com/itm/Lenco-L75-Turntable-Platter-Adapter-Stacking-Spindle-Stainless-Steel-Long-Body-/144271788059?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0

Denon has very warm sound compared with Naim and CX81, will sound similar to Yamaha. Denon suits brighter sounding speakers but really comes alive when turned up, great with Dali, Monitor Audio, Klipsch, Bower & wilkins, not so great with Wharfedale.

@@SD-ym5jo I really couldn't as I've not heard the Audio Note speakers or the Hegel amp, the AN-K/SPe are an unusual old school design using good old paper and silk drivers, they have good sensitivity so I don't see why it would not work well with either the Denon or Hegel amps. Hegel's are generally well known for their tight well controlled bass and clean neutral sound, The Denon has an almost velvety rich sound with superb resolution where the sound flows like cream and every breath and guitar pluck is heard as if it's real, the Denon also really comes alive when turned up offering detailed punchy bass, very clear mids and with a slightly rolled off treble response which can be nice if you have brighter sounding speakers, but could sound a little dull with others. Best to try and demo them for yourself with those Audio Note speakers.

You have your speakers against the wall which is why you are getting that boomy bass and it’s also killing the soundstage. You will get much better performance by pulling your speakers out away from the walls 4 feet or so. Also I would consider some bass traps.
