Great list! We did a lot of these in January 2024. Saw the Gundam before it closed. Loved Shibuya! Love the vending machine drinks. Became such a fan of hot Calpis!!!! We had to go through the Yakuza exhibit and also see the Hachi statue. My son lives a little over an hour north of Tokyo. You could spend a day in Tokyo station alone and you might not find your way out of there😂. I’m heading back in December 2024.

thanks for subscribing! 💖 I’m planning to make videos talking about my trip to China. But I can tell you now that Alipay is the way to go IMO. You can scan menu at restaurants and it’ll translate it to English better than we chat. You can also use Alipay to pay for the metro, taxis and ride share.

Just a short side-note; The Osaka castle as you see today is not the original but rather a rebuilt in concrete. The only original part that is left of Osaka castle is the wall lining around the castle and the castle moat.

Hi Sarah. May I ask you. Im travelling with a group of 11. Planning to take the train from Shin Osaka to Tokyo. My concern is we have big luggages. Should we buy from app or 2-3 days before departure buy from the office itself?
@TheTravellingLuis
@TheTravellingLuis 4 күн бұрын
I would try to book the tickets 2 weeks before the departure date so you can secure those seats with the baggage space right behind it. But I think in between cars, there are luggage space you can pay for. If I’m not mistaken, please do more research on this. You can also send your luggage from your Osaka hotel to your Tokyo hotel. It’s super convenient and not super expensive.

Went to the Tsutenkaku Tower in early May, and the line wasn't that long, and I really enjoyed the view. It was a different experience from the Kuchu Teien Observatory, but worth it nonetheless, IMO... Saw the Osaka Castle at least three times, always happy to go... Arashiyama is worth it not just for the forest, but also the surrounding areas, like the Togetsukyo Bridge and Monkey Park... The secret is going out of the regular tourist season, and go in the week if possible, so there are less people...

I also reccomend one of the most beautiful little gardens in kyoto: Tenjuan, south of the Nanzenji Sammon Gate. You can take a look on google maps photos, that were taken there.

Back in October I went to the Arashiyama bamboo forest at 10m on a sunny day.. Still, I would describe it the same way as you; underwhelming. Infact my mom and I were kinda surprised by how underwhelming it was 😅 Definitely won't be revisiting next time we go too Kyoto :v

@@jadecom6I was in Osaka and surrounding areas only.. I guess we preferred having arbitrary destinations but be going through interesting areas and shopping streets for the 20km we walked a day, instead of temples spaced far apart. Might have been the part of Kyoto we chose, and the fact that I'm not into seeing temples or Geishas. Some of the streets were cute I guess - not sure if that can be seen elsewhere.

I don't know about some of the rest, but this girl is dead wrong about Arashiyama Bamboo Forest. Maybe she doesn't like nature or walking? I don't know, and I don't care. This was a highlight of our last trip to Kyoto. It is beautiful, and the crowds are not that bad at all if it is not the weekend. If you go on the weekend, try to go a little earlier if possible. But DO NOT MISS IT -it is stunning!

Agreed! It was Amazing!! Plus there are multiple things to do in Arashiyama. The bamboo forest, monkey park, Arashiyama River and bridge, shops and restaurants, kimono forest, and rickshaw rides. A ton of things to do in one area if you are short on time.

I would like to go to Japan but skip the temples and shrines since I don’t believe in anything abt it. I would like to know if is worth it going for the food, culture, historic buildings like the palaces and all the cool museums, as well as the cool neighborhoods and shops. I noticed most of the videos in KZfaq talk about the temples and shrines, so it gets me thinking of it’s worth it? Im planning to to for 12-14days. I would also love to visit cool small villages/towns

Thank you so much for this great information. It's been since 2013 that I was there last, but as I am planning for my trip next week there are a few things that I must be mindful about. I would add to pay attention to the side of the escalator to ride on during your trip. I kept forgetting and it made for some pretty awkward engagements. Also, try to have pockets so that you can discard of your own trash. There are very few trash cans around from my recollection, and there was also no pollution. LOVE THAT!! Another thing that I truly loved and wish it would be adopted here in the US is that there are lines on the ground for the trains and even for getting your luggage at the airport. These lines simply create order instead of folks crowding to the belt of the luggage ramp or the edge of the train platform. Following the rules makes everything that much more delightful.

The trash can thing is so true - they’re rare! But I always try to remember to discard my trash at the train stations when I’m out and about 👍🏼
