One thing I haven't been able to resolve. I would like to hear myself in my cans, but then I get a slight echo. In a normal recording I'd hit mute playback, but then I can't hear the preroll audio. Audacity sorts this out brilliantly, but Audacity is a toy compared to ProTools. Any ideas how to get around this problem?

I didn't know about this gentleman until about 3 years ago And I'm so grateful that I found his books because he is my favorite narrator he brings the character and the storyline to life Not everyone can do that he has a gift and a wonderful voice I want to say thank you to his beautiful wife for sharing him with the world because there have been many times I have gone to bed with this man's voice in my ears when I go to sleep So thank you Mrs Pierce for sharing your husband with the world

This is great. I just started with ACX. Submitted a few auditions.

Ironically, this recording sounds pretty bad
@RPGSoundForge4 ай бұрын
Hilarious that every ACX tutorial has trash audio quality. If it's not over blown, one mic is hot and the other is too soft, or the overall gain is so low that all volume and speaker controls have to be maxed to hear it properly.

It seems like a difficult line of work but perhaps over time it becomes more second nature.

Is it just me or does anyone else feel that Sarah's amazing voice is more amazing when she talks normally than the slightly breathy voice she uses for narration?

Just came by to say I'm listening to Frank Herbert's "The White Plague," and Scott Brick is cloying me to death. He's in love with himself and the 'skillful cadential and tonal variation' is unrelated to the content, results in mind numbing repetition, repetition, repetition.

The audio on this is horrendous! Why?

Amazing 👌🙏 one of my favourite 2 narrators, I cant read in silence, put music on I turn into some sort of lyrical genius. Been doing live Mc madness for years, jut growing my confidence helping artists get vocals on there tracks, a while back i started writing and narrating a story of my own but didn't have a clue about pause/spacing reading speed. This really makes me wanna have another go 🙏 thank you sir

I have listened to every one of Jack Olsen’s books that Kevin Pierce has narrated and decided to finally google the face behind the voice. What an incredible narrator, calm, expressive… just brilliant!

It's kind of odd that for a video about Audio book narration the acoustics of the audience speakers are a bit off.

Terrific stuff. Such gifted audio book narrators. I wish all the names of the people who read excerpts were listed, though. Thanks a heap.

I love true crime audiobooks. If there’s two books I want and Kevin Pierce narrates one of them, that’s the one I’m choosing. He’s the best.

As the author - narrating my own book - may I take the liberties to stray a little from the typed content? If the content is referencing a photo in the paper book - how is that handled in the audio version?

For a gold medal example of how to differentiate voices, listen to John LeCarre's The Honourable Schoolboy, narrated by Michael Jayston. I lost track of how many characters there are, and he gives each of them a distinctive voice.

SInce this video was produced, Pro Tools has had a number of updates with several improvements. There is also now a free version, Pro Tools Intro (NOT Pro Tools First!) that includes all the features narrators need.

I'm so glad I looked up Kevin Pierce. Now I have a face to go with that wonderful voice. I've listened to you for many years. I pick my books on whether it's Kevin narrating. He makes the listening of books a very enjoyable experience for me. And I've been to many places listening to his voice. Thanks for the countless hours of enjoyable time listening to your narration. It's an absolute joy. Right now im listening to The Man with the Candy. 😊
