Waterways and religion. Two hugely important things in Medieval life that are missing in the game. What, no priests? And families that aren't all clones of 2 parents and a son. And Shouldn't villagers have skills? Plague, disease, yes, definitely. More animal types. More food types. More complex prodution chains and .. and .. and.. . The catch is that most/all of those are already there in other games, just not as pretty.

Hype works. Being told enough times that something is the best thing ever, works, in the main. If it didn't, we wouldn't have an advertising industry. An industry worth zillions because if you tell people what they want to hear in the right way, they will overlook any flaws in your product/service. They will show brand loyalty. I think Manor Lords has really tapped into the "small developer vs the evil AAA companies" thread, beyond anything that is actually there in reality. HIgh paid experts worked on Manor Lords, he shows the video of the orchestra in an AAA studio recording the soundtrack, has interviews with the leading historian who worked on the game design.etc Yet still the meme is that it's all done by one guy in his bedroom, "sticking it to the evil CA/Ubisoft man". :-)

Just announce that this video is "Early Access" and only one guy produced it. That makes you immune from criticism. And don't forget to keep it pretty.

This is actually a really good alternate world where Stannis could try to reforge the iron throne by basically freeing the Westerlands from Theon and putting a Lannister back in charge, and then negotiating the vale into his kingdom saving the reach and the North for last by conquest
