I'm so happy I came across Laura's content. I'm a Neuro Somatic Resilience Educator and I want to join the work of Restorative Justice. The PBIS integration makes sense to me. Thank you all for this valuable conversation!

Culture and equity mentioned as the key action items of the practice (only), in the first ten seconds of the video . My Spidey senses are tingling. 😮 Ok, after listening, the base actions are good. But the rest, will only work in some cases. For those that are determined to go the wrong way . The second and third level, tells them, no matter what they do, they will be given a second chance.

This is helpful. I've had a non compliant 3 year old .won't do anything and bars at the table almost daily. In home day care setting. Other children drop out ,leave because he won't play. We're at a loss in a limited medical environment. Rural.poor.

Thank you. Very helpful. Starting my 22 year teaching in an urban school. Hopeful that circles will have an impact. Your videos are well produced informative, and useful. Thank you so much. I wish you would come to our school district Fresno Unified in California. We have been rolling out restorative practices for the last several years. Now it is district-wide, but staff is not being well trained, but we are expected to implement without good training.

Thank you so much! What a small world! I grew up in Fresno and attended Fresno Unified Schools! Fresno is so fortunate to have Pacific University there - nationally recognized for their Peacemaking and Conflict Studies Program and I understood that they did some work with Fresno Unified at some point? Implementation in large school districts is incredibly challenging, especially when there are continuous pressures to change course and try something newer and shinier. A new program or curriculum will be sure to solve your discipline problems! But it never will because the fundamental problem is in our relationships with each other. RP will always be the right path, because it takes human nature and our inherent need for community into account. www.fresno.edu/graduate/program/restorative-justice Good luck on your path to be a restorative or practioner!

Thank you this information as many schools are grappling with implementing RP and PBIS. Just a reminder that nor PBIS or RP are programs. They are frameworks and philosophies that guide how we interact with one another. It first takes a mindset change in how we view and do discipline with children. Overall, important information.

This video is dense in the information on the "why" for RTI and PBIS in a easy, clear manner. I have seen all the information in different trainings and formats, but this presentation puts it together in a powerful way and builds the "why" in a compelling maner and easy to understand! I will show this video to our management team to reframe our work. Thank you

Typically in elementary, classroom circles occur daily. In secondary, there should be an advisory or home room in which circles happen at least weekly. But many teachers hold them more often, as needed!
