Nice setup. I run a 2024 Native Slayer Max 12.5. I recently added the Newport Vessels NK180Pro. How low do you have that NK300 set at? I'm thinking I may have my motor a bit low in the water.

Any chance you can do a walk thru on how to install the xi3 kayak and your Lowrance hds7

You mean linking the two products together? you will need the motorguide gps gateway kit and a lowrance point 1 gps puck. I believe both products are linked in the description. Basically the Graph,GPS Puck and Motorguide connect on a network cable (NMEA2000) and also needs power. I would suggest running these 3 devices on at least a 20ah battery to leverage an 8 hour day of fishing. LMK if you have any questions!

how did u get that tbolt screwed onto the berly pro plate?!
@OldLineKayakFishing
@OldLineKayakFishing 10 ай бұрын
I bought their plate and did actually have to largen the hole to make that Tbolt work. This was really the only berleypro product I ended up not using long term. The rudder cap that comes with the springblade rudder works best. It is worthwhile to upgrade all other parts of the steering.

On the native if you hit something with the pedal drive will it pop up without breaking? Live near the Susquehanna and main reason I want it is the pedal drive.
@OldLineKayakFishing
@OldLineKayakFishing 10 ай бұрын
Great Question! What I normally do out in the river is I actually slide the drive locking pin over and drop in the drive afterwards. I also will leave at least 1 bungee loose on the plastic drive cover. The drive itself is super durable and as long as your drive bumps rocks going forward it should kick up a little and normally I can pull it up or back out pretty easily. I normally will have my paddle ready to go JIC I get totally hung up. Out here I dont use my graph that much but I like to record a trail where I can and cant paddle at. Always log the gauges when you go out so you know how to offset the levels.

how the Hell do you cast with all that crap hanging off your boat? 🙈
@OldLineKayakFishing
@OldLineKayakFishing 10 ай бұрын
It can be challenging for sure lol! The biggest issue I ever Get into is trying to skip and rollcast over to the left side. Many birds nests hitting the bow and the Xi3 haha. I learned over time to run my lines and fish counter clockwise so I can cast mainly over the right side of my kayak which is clear.

Is it better to have a rudder to the back or it is fine without it.
@OldLineKayakFishing
@OldLineKayakFishing 10 ай бұрын
Great Question. Knowing what I do know now, I would say a Rudder would co a long way in the SS127, but with that Xi3 its not really needed. I would say those flex wings really help that kayak stay on track when paddling it.

Just wondering how u gonna deal with the weedy area, using the paddle? Or the xi3 can handle weeds no problem. And without a rudder at the back, is there any problem for steering or just fine. Thanks!!
@OldLineKayakFishing
@OldLineKayakFishing Жыл бұрын
Depending on how dense the weeds are you can, trim the motor to sit higher, a 2 bladed prop is more weedless, or paddle if it is entirely choked out. That's the true luxury of this setup. Run the motor until you can't and Still able to be paddled

@@matthewflom9549 the ss127 kayak in a barebones setup is $1700 new. Knowing what I know from fishing mine for 3 seasons, is I would have no hesitation on buying a used one and ive seen them as low as $1200. This is a great generalist kayak that can do many things well and has amazing stability. You can trick this out many ways. Mine in the video is pretty much fully decked out.

I just receive the same BerleyPro handle upgrade kit for my 2021 Slayer 10 MAX, and it only includes the handle and base plate. It does not include the disk (on which you wrap around the two cords) under the plate. At 3:15 of this video it appears to me this disk should be included? I noticed you had the BerleyPro handle upgrade kit already installed on the kayak, and yet had the stock one including the disk in your hand. I would say your upgrade does include a disk? Thanks.

Also with all this stuff on it, does it sacrifice anything as far as the kayak itself, for example stability, tracking, speed and and just stuff like that, the way it would feel not all rigged up? Cause I like the way mine feels not rigged up much to much. But want to rig it up. But don’t want to sacrifice that stuff like that
@OldLineKayakFishing
@OldLineKayakFishing Жыл бұрын
Id say its all the same when its Fully rigged and xi3 powered. the xi3 has good power and can handle the tourney load, make pinpoint turns and Stability is ridiculous on the ss127. This rigging I would get about 3.5-3.7 mph. Don't get stuck paddling it fully rigged it will not be fun! I had to paddle in one time because my remote batteries died I had spare batteries but I did not have the star bit to open the remote itself. 😢

Great question! I ended up putting my phone in my PFD for that reason and especially on tournament days. If i was out when it was raining then I would use the dry pod for my phone and relocate the cup with caddy to the perch pad.
