There's a very limited number of games that I've had to return. Most of them are because they didn't work or (if they are digital on PC) couldn't run on my old Laptop I had years ago. But the one game I do remember being so bad I had to return it was Has-been Heroes. I wasn't even the one who bought it, my dad saw it in a bargain bin and got it for me (the switch was still relatively new and the only other game I had for it essentially was BOTW) but I was so uninterested in it I had to get his receipt and return it. The concept was somewhat interesting, where the heroes are older and their time as great heroes is in the past but need to come back for some big final quest, but the gameplay was just too boring to keep playing. It's a rougelike set up with lanes that enemies walk across and you use abilities or whatever to beat them, but man was it confusing. The system of dying and having to restart at the very beginning made my few hours with the game feel like a joke, enough to make me want to get rid of it. I didn't even want it for collecting sake, that's how bad it was to me. Reviews say it's somewhat decent, but man is it not for me at all. I feel especially bad for my dad, he really tried to find something I'd like and I don't blame him given the front cover. It looked kinda cool, and after he gave it to me I looked up reviews on youtube and saw some claiming it was one of the better new non-Nintendo releases on the eshop. Can't trust many KZfaq eshop review videos now.

If you have Playstation Plus (Extra tier or above), Final Fantasy 7 Remake (part 1 of the trilogy) is included along with a bunch of other games. That's how I got to play the game.

I would argue NSMBWii was pretty interesting and fresh...at the time. It felt like a big step up from NSMB on DS. 4 player co-op was new, bringing back the Koopalings was awesome, the gameplay felt tight. It was a great game...at the time. The problem is that they just KEPT DOING IT. I got tired of the "New" gameplay and "New" aesthetic so quickly because it felt like they were pumping these games out or at least Mario games with the same aesthetic. NSMBWii was cool at the time, but it was unfortunately the catalyst for the Bland Mario Era.

I regret buying my switch lite since about a year later I bought a mini PC that can run the YuZu Emulator at 100% fps so luckily I only bought like 8 games on sale through the nintendo store so it wasn't a huge waste of money.

Games I regret buying not in any particular order: Time and Eternity ( PS3): I believe that was the title. From what I see it looks like the game I remember. Saw it at gamestop, and while the cover does look girlish ( and so to the synopsis on the cover) I decided to give it a shot as a fan of RPG's. Immediately didn't like the over cute-ish design for some enemies. " that is not a ____" ( don't remember the enemy I was complaining about lol). Only played for maybe an hour at most then Immediately traded it back into gamestop to buy something else. Splinter Cell Blacklist ( 360): while I highly enjoyed the game I suppose I must have set expectations a bit too high with how much I enjoyed Double Agent. Didn't help that a guy I knew at school was a constant liar for some reason and he told me he could get me a copy of the game ( had an uncle who worked at a game studio or something. Don't know why I believed him lol. Really hope he meant it as a joke, but he was the type who wanted to please everyone and wasn't true to himself). Time passes and I finally see it for sell used at a gamestop ( about $30 or so). Buy the game, head back home excited, plop it in to play the story and about 3 hours later credits are rolling lol. Kuon ( PS2): saw the game while pursuing gamestop yet again. Was a dumb middle school student. Saw the back which clearly portrayed a horror game, yet for some reason my mind thought it was an action game. Excitedly bought the game and as soon as I started it up was immediately spooked by the start screen. Don't know if it would still hold up today, but on the start screen ( at the time at least) it felt like the character was looking straight at me which gave me goosebumps. Started the game and played for a few minutes. Got too scared and could feel my heart beating fast ( note I hadn't played the original Silent Hill, but had played 2 and 3 so I wasn't new to horror games lol). My cousin said he was coming over to hang out which made me feel better, because it's harder usually to get more scared in a party. Took the game out from a drawer once he arrived because of how much it scared me I didn't want it out. We played for a few minutes until we got to a part where the game jump scared us by subverting our expectations ( it played the noise, but nothing happened. Then once enough time passed to have your guard down a body falls lol). We both got scared and just turned the game off. I later gave it to a friend who was interested when I told him about it. He claimed it was like Silent Hill in where it starts off scary, but once you get past the fear the game's story was actually pretty interesting. I found out a few years back it is apparently one of the more if not rarest PS2 games which makes it all more infuriating that I gave the game away, and he apparently lost it at some point when he moved lol.

On the topic of "Gotta play X hours for it to be good". Personally, means it's not a good game then if you gotta put in almost a full day to get to the good stuff. Maybe I am spoiled by the steam refund but if a game doesn't catch me within the first 90 minutes, it has failed for me.

What you "feel" is actually a load of bullshit. "feeling" something doesn't make something a good or worthwhile critique. It's a gut reactionary, unfair, bullshit reaction with no thought put into it and expressing an opinion this way is called "A bad take". Or in more casual terms, "unfair bullshit that makes you sound like a whiny asshole." If your opinion isn't fair or balanced, it's worthless. Only a pathetic narcissist like you would try to justify your bad take as just "a feeling" and then pretending as if you have any right to say blatantly untrue horseshit and then act like you should be allowed to get away with that. Seriously, get the hell over yourself.

I think for me, despite the nostalgia glasses, was the Wii ports of Freddie Fish, Pajama Sam, and Spy Fox. While I do have HUGE nostalgia for these ports, but after watching videos on the original PC copies of these games makes me wish I got to experience them on the PC. Especially because I love Pajama Sam out of the three. I played Spy Fox and Pajama Sam the most that it was kinda worthless to replay and never wanted to play Freddie Fish after like 3 playthroughs ?? I believe I got them from a game testing gig I did as a kid ?? I also played a Go Diego Go game for game test/ early review copy thing. I also want to shout out the Wii port of a weird hidden object game called Escape the Museum, I dont even remember how I got this game. Possibly it was a gift because I grew up with the I Spy Games (both PC and Ultimate I Spy) and other Hidden Object games, it was really hard, even for a E for everyone game and Im sure I never completed a full playthrough of it ?? I had a fear of everyday objects appearing bigger than they were and it was very common for hidden object games to do it like Escape the Museum and the Adventures series (or any that use stock images than like the I Spy games). I ended up trading Escape the Museum and the Wii Ports to a game stop for chump change that I do not remember what I used it for, Honestly I don't blame past me for doing it.

I never purchased Starfield but it looks similar to No Man's Sky just without the other human interaction. No Man's Sky was one game I regret buying. Even with all the updates. Played through the opening planet. After taking off and flying to the the next random plant it just took forever and felt more like a walking simulator. When I did finally get to the next planet it was just full of dozens of tiny island surrounded by water and no life. Thats where I stopped playing and haven't since.

I have a friend who loves Starfield --- to the point that I think it's become one of his all-time favourite games. But the thing I remember him talking about the most is the ability to custom-design your own ships. I think Starfield appeals to a certain kind of gamer, and this friend is usually the game master when a group of us play tabletop-roleplaying games; as much as he enjoys adventuring, his favourite thing is inventing and creating. From my few observations, it seems to be a slow-burn game, one that you might enjoy if you approach it more as a space that you exist in, rather than an adventure you rush to finish. I don't know, though; someone who's actually played the game could say better than I can.
