It is a shame that there are no remaining AA DC-10 aircraft, not even in museums.

Nothing more lovely than a DC-10 in the old AA livery.

I loved when the airline was known as Northwest Orient. I didn't like when they removed the word ' Orient' from their name. Too bad that they got merged into Delta. 😮 One of the worst things to happen to the industry, was de-regulation. I miss the variety of airlines that we once had.

That use to be a great spot to watch planes at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW). Miss seeing AA's larger planes at Metro. 737's seem to be the norm connecting DTW to the Charlotte, DFW & ORD hubs.

As is usual with videos of takeoffs you cut it too short. It's pretty boring to watch a plane taxiing. What is exciting and beautiful is watching the plane lift off and soar into the sky, especially if it makes a turn as it's soaring. Too bad these videos. like this one deprive us of the best part.

Sinceramente no se nada de aviación pero me gustó que al dar la vuelta viniendo de la calle de rodaje inmediatamente el piloto puso en modo de despegue los motores, he visto otros videos y no es asi

Okay. So since i can’t sleep, i’m bored and you all got me annoyed by jumping to the conclusion this is N334AA i did a bit of searching and SURPRISE! it’s not. According to Bureau of transportation statistics AAL1301 DTW to ORD departed at 13:44 on April 11, 1990 and while it doesn’t tell me the registration it does state it was a 767-223, not an ER which N334AA was. I also did a bit of digging and N334AA was in Düsseldorf in April of 1990 while no specific date going by an American timetable from 1990 it would have been based out of JFK since ORD didn’t serve Düsseldorf and being that most of Americans 767-223ERs were serving transcontinental and transatlantic throughout the early 90s it would seem very unlikely they’d use their ER’s on such a short route so you can pick between N301AA, N302AA, N303AA, N304AA, N305AA, N306AA and N307AA but definitely wasn’t N334AA thanks for attending my TED talk.

Ahh, memories. I flew on the DC-9 many a time as a kid and a young man when North Central, then Republic then Northwest used them. DC-9-30s, -50s and MD80s. Hard to believe that they used to fly in to little old CMX Hancock/Houghton up here in the UP, almost seems like a dream. A wonderful jet it was.
