I'm planning to get a red Komodo soon...do you think i should save up more to get the Komodo x or i should just get the OG komodo 6k and get things going? are you planning to upgrade soon?
@lostinayaland13 күн бұрын
Hey! I think it depends what your priorities are and what kinds of projects you’re planning on filming with it. What camera do you currently own? The X has better audio capabilities because of the xlr output. But I think the OG is still an excellent choice. I don’t plan on upgrading, I really hoping for an FX3 mark ii and then I might switch entirely, just because of the smaller form factor and current projects type. Hope that helps :)
@deboadekale801613 күн бұрын
@@lostinayaland I'm currently using the panasonic GH6. I have two options...it's either the sony FX6 or the OG Komodo.
@lostinayaland13 күн бұрын
Both are solid! Again I think it depends on the kind of projects you work on. Exciting though - good luck with the purchase! :)

Great rig! I've been using the Bright Tangerine kasbah system which I love but this title solution also looks fab! Interesting monitor positioning too! I always mount mine out forward in front of my face at eye level but yours seems a bit more relaxed.

Thanks Ed! Yes, I’ve heard great things about the BT shoulder rig. Yeah about my monitor… I need to buy a better magic arm haha, but I do like mine to be sitting a bit lower so that I can keep my eyes on the talent as well. :)

Alright, honestly, this is better than I initially thought it would be. Though like with most AI features being developed, I'm wondering how this ends up impacting people who do this sort of stuff as a job. Even though these features are still on the newer side and get tripped up every now and then, they've gotten much better with time and I feel like, while a lot of us find them impressive and useful, there's a whole other side to the conversation from the point of view of people who are going to see a huge decrease in projects coming in. But that's obviously a question with the larger state of AI right now. Regardless, great video and showcase!
@lostinayaland19 күн бұрын
Totally agree. I think the whole industry is changing and will continue to do so and as creatives we have to find a way to make those tools work for us. And as they become more accessible, human talent will increase in price and will become much more valuable and needed for projects that go beyond the scope of IG reels and ads.

Great video! I've tested Artlist's AI, and it's a big step up compared to other vocal AIs. Now we can begin to feel the emotion.

Cool feature. But how does it handle names? I used other engines and they usually struggle with names of people and names of cities.

Great question! Just tested it with my name and with some names of capitals around the world, and I think it does an excellent job. :)

I just ordered Falcam F50 QR for manfrotto plates, hoping that the ducktail would work is it's manfrotto. This will make mounting the whole thing on a tripod easy without stripping out anything from the shoulder rig.

Is the fact that this setup is very front heavy ever an issue? I haven't used a shoulder rig before but my understanding is you'd want it to be balanced so the weight is on your shoulder, not on your hands. Even so much that you could take your hands off and it shouldn't move. Do you have any thoughts about the balance of this rig, or rigs in general?

maybe try a viewfinder instead it'll save weight and give you another point of contact. Also mechanic gloves help alot with tightening and loosening rigs. Helps me tear my hands up less.

i have almost the same setup but different camera. Placing focus wheel on the handle will eat your energy in long time shootings. I learned the hard way. I placed the focus wheel upper side of the handle and used it with my thumb while holding the handle. It was much more comfortable. Great build btw

@@lostinayalandim not sure if you refer to the nucleus nano here but tbh the nucleus nano always tries to kill itself on my rig. The clamp that it has is the weakest nato clamp that Iv seen, it gets loose , you can also accidentally push the lever, literally the worst design imo. Im really not a fan of it. Also please dor the love of god try the ifootage magicarms, I use the same setup , you can tighten it with one half rotation , it has a quick release built in on both sides. Just ditch the smallrig .
