Can you use acid free invisible tape instead of linen hinging tape? And a masonite (also called MDF) board coated with varnish or acrylic gel medium (to make that an acid free backing) instead of foam core? What you're using is difficult and/or expensive to find where I live.

Great info. How deep should your frame be to accommodate foam core, mat etc? When looking on Amazon, I don't see where they specify the depth. Any thoughts?

Merci ;)

Can you use medium to make the Gamblin paint less stiff without diluting its color quality?

Excellent way to explain personal preference and reasoning. I generally get Gamblin because of the reasonably priced big tubes of just about any single pigment. They are a little stiff to me as well--just a little. M Graham is nice.

Beautiful 👏 About the final art, how do ou send it to the client? If is oil, it takes about 6 months to dry.. Do you wait this time for varnish? I am an brazilian artist and im with this doubt.. i painted the Monalisa with oils on paper and I want to sell it online, how could I do the shipping? Love our channel

Would you still tape the paper to the foam core before you start your artwork if you need the foam core to be larger than the paper to allow for mat board?

First of all, this is amazing! I wanted to try this technique but my colours didn't blend well and just sat on the paper, no matter what type I used. any advice on how to blend it easier?

Hmm, I used Strathmore Bristol paper, its thicker like card stock, and the ink does soak into it a bit. I used lots of colors that are a shade or two from each other, the stepping up or down in values is the best way to get a gradient. I also did use the clear blending marker on areas that I didn't have the next step in the gradient to try to soften the transition. This doesn't mean you have to run out and buy ALL the colors. You just need to have a few in various colors that go up in value. I always start with the lightest values and then slowly go darker. Hope this helps, maybe someday I can make a video specifically on this topic.use

Here is a problem that I had. when I bought a premade frame with glass from Jerry's Artarama, the piece of glass was a good 1/4" smaller than the inside of the frame, so that the spacers showed from the front.
@GuenevereSchwien
@GuenevereSchwien 9 ай бұрын
hmm, YOu could try using small pieces of black construction paper to cover the look of the spacers?

I'm planning on trying this with acrylic... do you think if I gessoed the back side I could also paint on the back as well?
@GuenevereSchwien
@GuenevereSchwien Жыл бұрын
Yes, if you get the water color sketchbook the pages are thick enough that you can use both sides, the only issue is that the two paintings may get stuck together when you close the book, I'd suggest using a piece of parchment paper between the pages to prevent sticking. You can buy this in the baking section at a grocery store.
