A former collague of mine, Mike Powell of Colchester, looked exactly like Socrates. - and he studied philosophy at the local university too!!. Mike passed away several years ago, but his Facebook page is still there.

You have replaced the false equivalency fallacy by making a naked appeal to authority logical fallacy. You should find something else to do with your life.

I am extremely skeptical of claims that a particular argument is a "tu quoque argument" or "whataboutism." Often, this is made in response to someone pointing out unfair treatment. It isn't wrong to expect the same crime or behavior to be given the same scrutiny or the same consequences.

One of the statements that really changed my view of life. Everyone should introspect on this statement and realise , all the racial , linguistic , regional and nationalistic barriers are just mere illusions. We all are still Humans , we might be different by within ourselves , but we are all still the same.

Incorrect. Good is neither a force, nor a standard, nor thing outside of God that merely aligns with God. God is goodness, itself. He is the standard. If one denies this, then they are stuck upon one of the horns of Euthyphro's Dilemma. Neither are good seats.

I find this often happens with EVs as well. Mining and making batteries have a carbon footprint, but within a few years of that car being on the road it's carbon natural and only gets better while gas cars get worse.

This is kind of a silly video for a few reasons: 1) It's equally true that just because something is new or heretofore unknown, that doesn't make it better than what it's replacing; 2) opposition to changing to new software might just be risk averseness if the old software has been adequate -- it's not necessarily based on an appeal to tradition. It might also be based on concern over the ease of transition and that the process of transition might outweigh the benefits ; and 3) why are you showing photos of Punxsutawney Phil? That's not an example of what you're talking about. No one believes that that groundhog can predict the weather; no one is going to make any plans based on whether or not he sees his shadow. That's ritual, like lighting a Christmas tree.

I'm feeling its importance and relevance so truly and rightly in our modern India especially during the time of parliamentary elections. I think in India, the minority will be educated (truly from within, who are liberal in their ideas and thoughts) middle class gradually under Modi's rules - Modicracy. I'm gradually losing my faith in the ideals and power of democracy and in spite of being a Hindu, I'm feeling scared and insecure in my own country. Salute to Socrates and my sincere thanks and heartfelt gratitude to you who explained it so nicely. Thank you so much. 🙏🙋
