Title is not accurate. Should say "SUSPECTED Abusive Priest". Turns out he wasn't an abuser. She later admits to lying about contacting his previous parish.

Life is much simpler and less stressful if one is a moral vacuum - I should know, I have been one for many years. As long as something does not affect me, then why should I care about others it does affect? There - THAT is moral vacuum-ness

What's My Line, and Yes Minister/ Yes Prime Minister two of the greatest and most intelligent shows on television. In the whole history of the medium there has never been two shows that were indeed the most intelligent. Watch both shows and; John Charles Daily, and Nigel Hawthorne are the two Masters of Circumlocution.

Unfortunately, not true. Most advanced countries have a policy that prevents extremist propaganda from being pushed through news media. The U.S. no longer has a Fairness Doctrine, so half of our country listen to and watch FAR right-wing extremism on "news' channels like Fox "News." Such individuals are susceptible to extremism and are usually very LOUD about the BS they believe is true.

Who is to say what a "terrorist" is? In the U.S. the number one driver of healthcare costs (which increase at three times the rate of wages) is pharmaceutical prices. Every other country controls those costs in one way or another. As a result of the U.S. not regulating prices, 50,000 men, women, and children DIE every year in the U.S. due to lack of access to preventive healthcare and price-gouged medications. That is more deaths than ANY terrorist organization murders in a year. Again, who is to say what a "terrorist" is?

There's a logical contradiction in the script. First he says that they should not do anything about the arms, pursuing Hacker to stop thinking about it and later he says "it's not my job, it's the politicians' job to worry about it".

@turdFerguson565 6 күн бұрын
Only if you missed the word “care” He said “It’s not my job to care” he was encouraging hacker not to care and to not do anything about the arms sales. When he says,”that’s what politicians are for”, he means that the politicians will care, he’s just encouraging that they take the real perspective of the government and simply not.

Gwen Taylor, who plays Agnes in this clip, was also the one who played Mrs. Big Nose in Monty Python's Life Of Brian. It was she who, after the crowd had established that Christ had just uttered the words "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth" said "Oh I'm glad they're getting something".

"The only real way to reform the civil servant system is to reform the political system. And no government's going to reform the system that put them into power." - couldn't have put it better as to why voting will never work if you fundamentally disagree the farce that modern politics has become.

At least Europeans had laws, courts and rules back in 13-14th centuries. Even that time. In Islamic world the execution would be quick without trial. Or under Turco-Mongol rule. Without any bloody records.

I am in a position in life where many things are in motion. And i find myself to be the position os sir humprey in this video. I needed to be a humble functionary but it got messy. Not exactly sure i will pull through to be honest. It is getting a bit out of control where lines are being drawn. And i might be pushed out, which would be unfortunate but unsurprising. Hopefully i visit this video soon, not in an indignant triumphant fashion but as simply.. successful..

Maybe he was meant for something better than ignominious death. Maybe he was meant to surpass his ancestors by surviving. Maybe his destiny was the life after war they would have wanted. Life can only be understood backwards, but it has to be lived forwards.

I feel like most people assumes he's guilty of being a pedophile, but my first assumption is that he's simply gay, and to people at that time, that goes hand-in-hand with sex with young boys. That's one reason the film's called "Doubt": There are certainly points where he acts guilty, but is it because he's genuinely guilty, or he's "guilty" of an unfairly-synonymous "crime"? Perhaps he's panicking over being potentially exposed because he genuinely wants to help a kid who shares his "condition" but being exposed will force him to leave, isolating the boy in a situation he empathizes with. The Church helps him in the end, but is it because he's guilty, or because their policy of protecting the guilty is protecting an innocent man? Doubt doubt doubt. "Where's your compassion?" "Nowhere you can get at it." This is the exchange an innocent man would have with a zealous inquisitor prepared to burn him at the stake. "I have no sympathy for you." And this is not what a genuine Christian would say.
@Missjunebugfreak

That's a good reading. I also suspect the priest might be gay and that's why he says "there are things I cannot say". Such a brilliantly written film to have the audience keep guessing about this character and leave you with questions about whether he is a pedophile, or just innocent and happens to be gay.

It made me laugh when Lieutenant Dan told him "you know what it's like to not be able to use your legs" and Forrest responded "yes i do"...haha poor lieutenant, even when trying to give a negative message to Forrest, he is always one step ahead of him. I've got a much better idea Humphrey, to prevent the PM of his reckless adventures of reforming the civil service... andcwhat would that be, dear Agnes...? Instead ofcwe ie me & u saying anything, why not for a change, adapt an amazingly n devastatingly, wildly, succesful idea - - not at all novel in any ways - - & yet tweaking it suitably in our favour it'd work miraculous wonders, for us ie, Humphrey... what's that brilliantly un novel idea, Agnes...? Litfest... Jaipur Litfest... India... What abt it Agnes... are we going to organise a litfest now... don't we've enough of them in England & Wales... Do we really hv Humphrey..... hv u heard or read the royal tales of the Clarkes Hotel - Amer Litfest a roaring success - - ( from our perspective ie in particular, Humphrey) since 2006... Oooh yeeeeahh i know all abt it... an event esp for the free loaders, historians, academics types from here & the rest of Europe to lecture the fawning Wogz on the hustory of how we systematicalky stripped & de nuded the comminwealth colonies & the Wog crowd cheering n clapoing lustily on cue like school kids...!!! Don't u see Humphrey, the hidden in plain sight benefits, advantages for us,? Over a period of 5 days we could arrange an array of dazzling speakers, in diverse fields such as, history, economics, politics, banking, insurance, finance, IT surveillance, AI, EV, arts & culture... Job losses, gloom & doom, migrants, refugees, and sooh onn... and by the end of the week the PM woukd be convinced of the disaters of his proposed ideas to reform the civil service... the venue of this Lit fest, Buckingham palace ? Why not, Humphrey...? An exotic heritage luxury resort site like the one in Rajasthan, Jaipur since 2006 every year in the winter...! But why a lit fest in Rajasthan of all the places Agnes...? Ooohh i thought u knew everything, Humphrey...? Okaaay.. what's the secret, Agnes? What is Rajaa sthan, ie Jaipur - - Humphrey... Golden triangle, Agnes, - Jaipur, Agra & Delhi... Capital city of Raj a sthan... the most favourite hunting ground for the Raj ie us the Crown...!!! Precisely... Humphrey... Is it really abt literature & arts? Off course not... don't i know the history of Cecil Hotel in Shimla ie later... Clarke's Hotel.... Precisely... ie how a mere 250 British clerks oversaw, administered & ran the most spectacularly successful conquest ever by a British Kompany... role model to emulate for Kompanies to follow over generations...! Why the litfest in Jaipur, why here,? that's precisely the Qn our William Darymple posed, in private off course... has he become a tourism ambassador for the Commonwealth colonies, the historian W Darymoke? Or a champion promoting the Indian hospitals & education & dare i say learning centres for the British... in particular..? This lit fest site is located bang opp a luxury Hospital in Jaipur, Humphrey... Hospitality - heritage resort u mean... Agnes ? Hospitals... Humphrey... the lit fest venue is the luxury hospitality centre... yess but u're right... over the past 2 plus decades its really a bit difficult to notice the difference between the luxury hospitals & the hospitality venues... And given the sterling pound - rup- exchange rate, any given sunday it'd be dirt cheap for us, the Brits to fly down to Delhi or Hyderabad or such tourist spots for a priority treatment by the best of the mefical professionals trained, gained exposure in England...! Oooh Humphrey, do u really know, the real inside story...? We get a fatwaah issued against Salman Rushdie novel, have it banned in India... & pronto, we present the WoG audience with our version of Salman Rushdie rival... V S Naipaul... pit them against each other... & they'll be fighting forever amongst themselves.... the midnight children vs the wounded civilization..... !!! While we set up our businesses all over the sub continent, strike lucrative deals, in the Oil & Gas, Energy sector in particular, gobbling up their precious jewels, deals brokered by over eager patriot &, nationalist finance, medical, law & education professionals, like bankers, Mgt consultants... et al... How do u think Agnes we managed to rule over them for centuries & continue to do soooh, moreso post quitting our utmost precious jewels in the Crown...? Alken Octavio Hume - - British civil servant - founder of the INC - champion freedom movement - - ultra nationalists, moderates, extremists, liberals, autocrats, fascists, a splendorous array a bouquet of assorted leaders to choose from... All because of us, the genius civil service clerk Thomas - Macaulay.... who's continued to be devotedly, fanatically worshipped by the Afrikans & the Orientals /the Asians...!!! inspite of the overwhelming Amerikanisation of the Asians...!!! Its the fertility clinic boom, Humphrey... that's the kicker for the so called tourism facade.... midnight ie round the clock surrogate - kids... mfd, produced, customised on demand for us the Brits, the Whites, at a throw away price, compared to any other place, barring Afrika... trickle down treacheronomics Humphrey... & yet we'll hv the ever grateful brownies, profusely thanking us for uplifting the downtrodden ones from dire poverty...!!! Now u see... how it can be tweaked in our favour here in the city of London... to completely turn off our PM against his proposed cherished reforms... the nightmare of the surrogate - terrorists in the garb of refugees / immigrants.... And who else but we the British civil service can save the Gr Britain & Northern Ireland... from utter ruin & disaster... like we saved the Port Talbot Steel Kompany in Wales? Owned n operated by the Indians...? doling out 500 million sterling pounds to downsize thousands of steel industry workers...? Green steel, Green energy... Agnes... but u must stop at once ur tirade against the Police, Agnes...
