Im not more motivated to learrn mandarin than before. 1: most of your reasons are true to ANY languages so it does not give me a reason why I should actualky learn one of the worlds hardest labguages. And Chinese people are eager to join the West by learning English so they are not as impressed if you take the opportunity from them to practise their english WITH YOU. Bd even though it is spoken by a lot of people but not a lot of places in the workd so unless you want to live in china /taiwan, again, theres no point putting all the effort in it😂 I would really want to know YOUR OWN reasons why you keep learning after coovid boredom is over. Obviously you need more motivation now... which one of the above reasons are your reasons as well? Do you want open doors/ deep understanding if culture? Or just addition to the collevtion of achievements alongside your cambridge medical degree ? Would be interesting to know. 😊

Do not learn Chinese, Japanese and Korean. Those languages are absolutely defferent from Europe language incl. English. And it will take a lot of time, mostly it take 20 times more than Europe languag. It is time waist. Even you put 2,000 times to learn Korean and you come to Korea to exercise Koreans, nomally local Koreans do not use pronounciation, vocaburary and expression you had learned from Text book. Business is OK in English in Korea. But Chinese, Japanese and Korea have to learn English for business.

Easy answer: Japanese = hardest language to read, Mandarin hardest language to write and to remember all the characters. I want to mention as well, Pinyin isn't a good way to learn Mandarin, as it makes you ignore the characters.

“Also was a Hollywood Star in “several movies “ 😂 uh IZ he was the BIGGEST highest paid action movie star for 2 decades making $20 MILLION a movie Arnold states his ENTIRE life was “based on my visualizing my next step” His biggest challenge www NOT “learning English “ it was to LEAVE post WWII NAZI Austria with NOTHING and come to USA . No one could understand Arnold’s English - he needed a silent coach to lose his accent 😊

funny that you are saying that learning mandarin is not a sprint, learning it 6 hourss (a little bit evey day as you say) a day for 6 months and taking hsk4 IS a sprint that fastest sprint one can possibly mentally able to do.....what you can inspire me is that insane level of persistence that you have as this can hardly be called motivation nor can it be enjoyable at that pace. Well done you though its certainly an achievement and i wonder how long you will remember all of it. I realised you used the covid boredom to achieve it i got my pgce at that time too😊 so now i understand better how you managed to get this far this quickly. You had nothing else to do😅 Thats the biggest tip i learnt from you.

Just an FYI: A gratitude journal entry works best when you fully dive into sharing those things with as much detail as possible. It should be so clear that if another read it, they'd feel like they also experienced it. Creatively detailed. Just making a list doesn't activate the same biological changes, which is the point.

Doc IZ - I think the ultimate journal potential is via medically supervised ketamine IV with journaling in “consolidation period “ Ketamine data shows new neural pathways are created , neural plasticity improved , depression and anxiety alleviated I think you should consider this therapeutic modality as journaling seems to be important in your journey ❤

5:47 I'll use traditional characters for clarification. 電話 電 is electric, Not "sorta" anything. And learn the meaning of the glyph itself. 雨 rain, 电 cloud and a lightning bolt 話 = speech 電話 = electric speech. That is what a telephone is. It converts sound into an electrical signal and reconverts that electrical signal back to sound on the other end. movie = 电影 = electric shadow. That is what a movie is. Electric shadows.
