The best advice I can give is World of Warcraft. When I was 15, I realized I was learning English naturally through the game. After a summer of playing, my English had improved a lot. Why? Because all the characters have voices for basic stuff like greetings and goodbyes. There are tons of quests to read, and you need to interact with people through chat, guilds, and sometimes voice chat if your guild requires it. People don't judge you for bad English, so it's easy to make mistakes and learn from them. We're all in the same boat. Now, I'm trying to do the same with Spanish by joining a Spanish guild and setting the game to Spanish. I recommend Classic WoW since it's more social than the latest version.

I am learning Italian by playing video games and there are 3 games I recommend for anyone with a PC and a Steam account. -Influent: a game where you walk around your room and every object has reading, listening and speaking practice through quizzes. -Noun Town: A cute game were you bring color back to different locations in the world by practicing reading and speaking in your target language. -Newcomer: An RPG where talking with characters and dialogue options are all in your target language and all battles are word recognition quizzes.

Hi, I’ve been learning Italian for over a year now too. I like the video idea but for me it absolutely didn’t work the way you recommended here. Duolingo or Babbel ( I used them in the beginning too) are the worst way to learn a language (at least in my opinion) because who talks about the size of an elephant on a daily basis. I recommend HelloTalk. Get yourself a partner who you can speak and text to every week, because speaking is most important to actually learn the language. On the way you should learn the grammar and vocab little by little (10 vocabs per day are enough). It is important to not learn words like oven or mirror in the beginning but words you actually use on a daily basis like „nevertheless “ or „because“. Keep in mind this is just my approach but I wanted to share it hoping it might help someone :)

it takes years to become fluent in a language, literally. We live in a fast food culture life style, where everyone goes to school and should expected to become in multiple subjects, by learning some theoretical superficial knowledge.

Attento con Google Translate perché alcune traduzioni letterali non funzionano. Per esempio a 2:00 relaxing stretch = tratto rilassante non ha senso. In realtà in italiano si usa la parola inglese "stretching", quindi stretching rilassante. Tratto vuol dire distance/length, a stretch of road: un tratto di strada. Spero che tu abbia capito e in bocca al lupo con l'italiano 😉
@RickayyB

Ah grazie! È divertente vedere cosa mi propone Google Translate a volte. Ho iniziato ad usare di più ChatGPT perché trovo che le sue traduzioni siano più naturali. Ho notato che anche in italiano si usa la parola ‘stretch’. Grazie per il tuo aiuto 🤩

When searching for music, it helps to know the genre that appeals to you. For example, in Latin music, we have salsa, tango, reggaeton, vallenato, and my two favorite styles, bolero and ranchera. So all you do is go into Spotify or KZfaq and search for playlists in that genre. You'll find more than enough to keep you busy!

Ben fatto! I also like to watch American made series I love but dubbed in Italian. I have one Netflix profile that is always in Italian as the preferred language setting. Not all series are dubbed in Italian, but Many are. I watched, for example, the Witcher all in Italian. Italians are famous for doing an excellent job of dubbing with great acting.

I'm learning Chinese, which uses characters instead of letters. I really wish it would display the roman characters (Pinyin) so I could read the sentences outloud without knowing the characters. It makes this method a little difficult for me :/

Great video! I've literally learned 99% of my English this way: through video games. At first, I would watch my sister play games in English and have her translate words or sentences that made me curious as a child. Then I jumped into "visual novel" type of games, like Hakuouki or Danganronpa. By the end of Hakuouki, I was 50% through achieving the level I currently have. Another very interesting thing I noticed by following this method is that despite being able to read scientific articles at the end of my journey, I was struggling to even write simple sentences. Had to patch that up by chatting online on forums for a month daily.
