Can you put oil and a wick in this?
@veryartyfairy
@veryartyfairy 3 ай бұрын
I haven't tried it yet but if it's just clay on the inside I think it could work. If it's painted from the inside that could burn or react with the paint. Maybe try to dab some paint on a tiny piece of clay and put it in an oil lamp if you have one to test it first before you ruin your little masterpiece?

You are so welcome! I totally get the cold weather not being so inviting to sketching outdoors - I'm always freezing, too! I have some tips on how to nature journal in winter in another video if you're interested, though. It's not the same as in the summer and spring but it's doable with some tricks. However, indoors is always an option - and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it - if you go outside and bring something home (either a twig, a pebble or a memory, they all work) you can be inspired and warm at the same time:). I hope you have some sunny days now - we have wonderful weather these last few days!

Glad it was helpful! That was such a nice review I'm so happy:) I never thought you could identify trees so good just based on one twig - but he can tell you for any little sprig where it came from, just amazing! I'm not that good yet but as guys called me "budding dendrologist - no pun intended" I guess I'm on the right path:). I really love art, it's my escape into the dream world and that often mixes with the nature world because nature is very magical and it never ceases to be even if you study it for decades... I'm also very happy about the new yt algorithm - it's hard to find new creators sometimes and it's hard to keep making videos if you don't know if there's a single person watching or getting something out of it so comments really help:). Thank you so much for that!

Yea, we've probably all been taught "use up the first sketchbook first" approach - but for me and many artists this "multitasking method" works much better. If I play in one sketchbook it's totally chaotic since it's a million of styles and sometimes even different media and subjects all over the place... But if I have several it's much easier:) And less pressure - you already know what you draw in that sketchbook when you pick it up:). I'm still a bit too eclectic but I guess some of it will never go away... Thank you so much and I'm very grateful for every subscriber:). I hope you enjoy it here:).

I guess we all need it. Isn't it ironic that this little "unproductive" thing that we do is actually so very helpful and needed for our health - it's similar to what exercise does for the body instead of drugs - and art does this for the mind. This is so useful. I've been thinking about this a lot recently. Thank you so much! Where do you usually buy your ink from?
@veryartyfairy
@veryartyfairy 5 ай бұрын
I'm so glad it was helpful! I buy my ink from a local art and craft store but you could buy it online as well. We even get a pretty good Indian ink in local grocery store (from Koh-i-noor - but I live in Europe). If you want your pen to be waterproof, use waterproof ink. I haven't had any issues with different inks - none of them clogged the pen. Some have a slight odour and others take longer to dry so test first if that is important to you. But in the end - the pen would go into the recycling bin and would probably never be recycled since it's made of many small different parts of different compounds anyway so you can't ruin it:). If you have any other question don't hesitate to ask - sometimes it takes me a while to see the comments but I always answer:). I'm so happy somebody will save their pens, thank you!

Haha, that's a great advice - rest assured I don't do any of that either before or after video - whenever anybody asks me to, I tell them that I am crazy enough without drugs and they usually agree :D. English is my second language and I don't speak it on daily basis because I don't live in USA that's why sometimes I struggle to find the right word and I'm not used to talk to the camera so I'm a bit clumsy and I imagine it can come across like I'm not sober :D. I'm sorry for that - I do hope it will get better with time as I make more videos and talk more on the camera. If it's because of the laughter - I do laugh a lot I know (in real life and I guess on camera as well) - like some people on weed but I guess my brain just produces endorphins on their own - humour is my coping mechanism and I like to see other people smile so I laugh and smile a lot:).
