Is this pattern for every type of body???
@KittyJBerry
@KittyJBerry 8 күн бұрын
This dress pattern is meant for someone with a bust size between 32 and 46 inches, and this pattern has more of a 'Balconette' shape. I have a new Regency Dress pattern called 'Mix and Match' and it fits bust sizes 30 to 48 inches. I am currently working on expanded sizing for plus sizes for my 'Mix and Match' pattern. You can check out videos for it on youtube. This dress is an empire style dress, so fit mostly matters at the bust and underbust. Hips and waist are free. And you can adjust the skirt length to your height as needed. I love a Regency dress on any body shape, but I adore the Regency silhouette of an empire waist gown. If you're interested in making a regency dress I recommend checking out my 'Mix and Match Regency Dress Pattern'. It has the most variation and more videos showing the sewing process. The bodice should also be the easiest to fit. I hope this helps!

I need help. I measured my bust and underbust. I’m 36 bust and 32 underbust. I made the bodice. It sits way too high above my boobs
@KittyJBerry
@KittyJBerry 2 ай бұрын
Did you cut out size labeled 36? If you want the bodice very fitted you can test size 34. Make sure you followed the correct lines- sometimes it gets confusing following the lines. If necessary you can tweak the bodice, like lengthening the straps to help is sit lower. If you’re still struggling you can try sending some photos on Etsy and I’ll take a look.

Gorgeous:) i was wondering, from my solid colour i have around 2.5M fabric, if i could copy the front skirt to the back, and with my see through overlayer make the pleads ? (I have 4m of that one) in order to be able to make it?
@KittyJBerry
@KittyJBerry 2 ай бұрын
I couldn't say, I have never tested this. You could lay the pattern piece out and mark it with pins or chalk and see if you can get both to fit. I would also check the waist line measurement. The two things to consider is getting enough skirt to go around the bodice, and if it can fit on 2.5 meters of fabric. I think 2.5 won't be enough, especialy if you're cutting the bodice pieces and sleeves from the solid fabric. Maybe 3 or 3.5 meters would be enough? but this is only a guess, I can't say for sure. Check the measurements and Lay the pattern pieces out and see if you can tetris it to fit. Good Luck!

Looks really good. I have got a question though. I,m getting married and I,m making my own wedding dress. I got a similar pattern but I,m not really happy with the fit and I,m considering buying your pattern to use cause it seems more professional. Can I ask how much main fabric you need for size 18 uk? Anyway thanks in advance ☺️
@KittyJBerry
@KittyJBerry 2 ай бұрын
Thank you! 😊I'm not very familiar with UK sizing, but if your bust is around 42 inches you will need about 7 meters of fabric if you want a dress like the one in this video. I used 7 meters to make this dress. If your fabric has a design or pattern, or a narrow width, or you're rather tall, you might need a little extra. You will also want about 1/2 meter of cotton for interlining the bodice. I hope this helps!

I just wanted to say, I love your videos and your patterns are awesome, I'm going to buy this pattern. I was wondering if you could actually make a lace up example with this pattern. It would be very helpful
@KittyJBerry
@KittyJBerry 2 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for giving this pattern a go! I might make a lace up example down the road. I think it would be easy enough to make a dress with a lace up / corset style back. I would make the bodice with the cotton interlining for sure (to support the eyelets).Then I would finish up the back as usual - adding the lining. Then I would use an awl to poke holes into the center back and add eyelets using eyelet Pliers. I think I would add several 4mm or 5mm eyelets up and down both sides- I've always been partial to the Prym Eyelet Pliers and Eyelets with Washers. Then you could just use ribbon to tie it up. Of course hand-sewing eyelets would be a lovely historical way to add eyelets. Thank you for your suggestion! I will certainly have to see if I can work on a lace up example in the future!
