compared to other species the humans are so uniform, its stunning. For example, there are maybe 50000 Chimpanzees left on earth and they are a magnitude more divers than all humans on earth. do we need to split them in 10 or 20 races?

What a load of BS about Australian prehistory. Mungo man has no genetic links to any modern day aboriginals. Modern day aboriginals automatically claimed him as their ancestor without any proof. Why not talk about the very robust Kow Swamp cranium? How does the relatively gracile skeleton of mungo man 42k morph to robust Kow swamp 12k and back to gracile remains 5k ago? You start off talking history but go down political indigenous activism. Political activist masquerading as teachers of history 🙄

Certain Amerindian tribes practiced ritual cannibalism, eating the flesh of a brave enemy to absorb their courage. Chippewa and Mohawk come to mind.. "Mohawk" comes from a word meaning "man-eater" in some Algonquin language. Aztecs practiced ritual cannibalism of sacrificial victims on a mass regular basis. I doubt this practise was unique but occurred in many other earlier cultures worldwide.
@davidleitner8056
@davidleitner8056 Жыл бұрын
The "mohawk" were called man-eaters by their enemies, they called themselves Kanienkehaka (something like "the flint people"). This pattern of cannibalism being an accusation by enemies is frequent (including the inaccurate portrayals of human sacrifice among the Aztecs). But even in real cases of ritual cannibalism, the act is not done for subsistence reasons. (fun fact: the christian tradition of the eucharist counts as ritual cannibalism from an anthropological perspective, if you believe in transubstantiation that is)

@@davidleitner8056 I think that is what I said. We often know the names of various tribes from their enemies instead of from them . I think the name "Seneca" means "snake" in Algonquin.

Sorry but the Neanderthals in the Clan of the Cave Bear were NOT vegetarians. The Neanderthals were traditionalist and misoginistic while the Cro Magnons were liberal and more egalitarian. The weirdest thing was that the Neanderthals' extra cranial capacity allowed them to somehow to have ancestral memory (like the Bene Gesserit in Frank Herbert's Dune).

If you watch my videos on the nature of science, I explain why scientists think their way of thinking is right. But science itself does not say religion is false, rather it just isn't the most reliable explanation of natural phenomena. For questions of morality and the supernatural, religion, while not necessary to answer those questions, is a likely better framework than the scientific method.

Best if you don't make videos. The "uh's and um's" along with pauses in mid sentence and riddled with bad grammar, incomplete sentences, make your video a very bad example for any student. This is a great example where bad grammar is past down to young people. You may have knowledge but you have lousy presentation skills.

Neanderthal symbolism and does seem to be more prevalent from recent finds. Cave art has been attributed to them. The arrangements of stalagmites or stalactites (I always forget which is which!) found in one cave is remarkable. Musical instruments are an amazing find to me. Clearly they had the means of producing speech. Could they convey meaning using vocalizations/words in a learned way that their group members could understand? I'm quite sure - yes. Teaching of stone tool technologies, how to make fire and clothes - all processes that must have been conveyed through language. This is far from unique to humans. Dogs understand many human words. Whales and dolphins communicate quite well and coordinate hunts and other activities. In my mind, these all constitute forms of language. I think erectus had at least proto-language as well, probably more. Maybe not quite as sophisticated, with nuances, tenses, denotion and connotation, but effective language nonetheless. By analogy, sapien language is high-speed internet - but Neanderthals and others at least had dial-up. Probably very close or even as sophisticated.

I do think genes play a large part in speech, having worked in children's services, I have seen children in special speech classes make no progress over years.The one child, who was not unintelligent, and really a very social boy, could not get beyond a very basic level of speech. I had a chance to meet his father, and his father was very reluctant to speak. Over time I learned that the father was very good at his job, made a good living, and in many ways intelligent, but he would refrain from speaking as it was difficult for him. He was about 6 feet 4 inches and was a fantastic athlete, black belt, cross country runner and so on. I realized the son was the same, smart in his own way but as his father, he had difficulty forming words. As a side note, mom was a chatter box. I have to think there is a genetic component in speech. Please note I am not dismissing environmental factors.

Evolution is lunacy. We are the descendants of the grandsons and great grandsons of Noah that were actually named. Ever hear of Asher? He is the father of the Assyrians (G). How about Aram? The father of the Arameans (F). Elam? Elamites (H). Cush Cushites (E3 V32), Phut early Phoenicians (E3 M81), Mitzrayim Egypt (E3 V12), Tiras Thracians (L), Gomer Europeans (R), Madai Medes (Q), Ancient Italy Tubal (K), Canaan Canaanites (E3 M123), Arphaxad Hebrews and Arabic (I&J), Lud Lydians (F2), Meshek Siberians (N), Magog Asia (O), Javan is the ancient Greek Mediterranean sea people (T). How about learning some human history? You can’t make up known human history. It’s the only history there is. Neanderthals are Japhethites and Denisovans are a mix of Japhethites and Hamites, not Semitic. It shows up on DNA maps and charts. Every grandson of Noah and their descendants have their own paternal Y chromosome haplogroup lineage! I can name all sixteen of them like I just did and give you each of their haplogroups!
