I wonder if that name has anything to do with President Truman since that would have been the year Roosevelt died and Truman became president and ended World War II.

_Walking through history like this is incredibly humbling. Every stone tells a story, a life lived, loved, and lost. Section 33 of Crown Hill Cemetery feels like a sacred space where time stands still. It's a powerful reminder to cherish every moment, to live life to the fullest, and to leave a legacy of love and kindness. Let's honor these souls by living our lives with purpose and compassion._

The genealogist in me wonders if there are any ancestors and if they know that this is where he's buried. I did a lot of genealogy research in 2008-2009 and after I'd be willing to bet I know more about my mother's ancestors than she did. So many are buried in the little pioneer cemeteries. According to what I remember her telling me she only knew the maiden last name of her maternal grandmother but nothing beyond that. The paternal side was easier because the name stayed the same.

How wonderful for you to honor them. They deserve to be remembered. My aunt Martha Bell's brother Ralph Goff was killed in World War II in one of the battles. All of her generation are gone and maybe some of my generation that would have been directly related to him. He is in Grovelawn and I always stop by his grave and the separate memorial to all the local men killed in the war and pay my respects even though he is not a blood relative.

A lot of the pioneers who founded that area came from Pennsylvania and Maryland. My ancestors did. A friend of mine who was into genealogy told me about the national road or national highway, I can't remember the exact name without looking it up. I guess when the Northwest Territory was acquired for the United States and it included Indiana Illinois Ohio Michigan and maybe Wisconsin or Minnesota, pioneer started coming along the national road to the northwest territory to startup farms. I didn't realize until after my parents were gone that my family dated back several generations to the early 1800s. My mother's family was Methodist and my dad's family was Quaker so it was easier to research my dad's family and he did that before he passed away. The Quaker's cup such good records. But I did a lot of research on my mother's side after I retired and found a whole lot of information including where many of the ancestors were buried in various cemeteries including a few of the pioneer cemeteries that were on farms. They are really fascinating also.

Looks like they lost a mother and baby. How sad. And she was only 20. Maybe a disease was going through the area? Otherwise possibly just childbirth. I looked at it again and Mama's death date was the same as baby's birthday and then the baby only lived a month. A similar thing happened to my husband's great-great-grandmother. First boy was born, then about 3years later a girl, mother died from complications and baby only survived a couple months.
