Isn’t there a forced defrost without all this

The force defrost will only melt ice around the coils, not up by the fan unfortunately. But I highly recommend running force defrost a couple times before removing the panel!

Great video! Thanks for sharing, I just bought a used 2011 Town and Country L just like this and the same problem. I found you don't even have to remove the battery, but probably should disconnect one of the terminals for the battery to be safe. I also found when I went to put pin 7 into 11, there was no wire and the pin hole seemed to be sealed. If you push hard I guess it will break through the plastic. Maybe there is a better way for that, like a tool with a small sharp icepick like end or a little drill/bit. After that everything went well. Except when I went to turn on the van and there was no power, found that a connector under the TPIM unit had come loose when I lifted it up. Make sure ALL connectors are tight and locked before putting the TPIM back on. Everything worked great after that. Thanks so much for this! Where do I send $$ :-) you saved me a mechanic trip and you also showed me what NOT to do haha ;-).

@fiveohmxco
@fiveohmxco Ай бұрын
Correct, u shaped only for up and down window. I’d window slides sideways, they make special ac units for that. Or if you use a normal one, you’d have to find something to fit in the gap above the unit. Some people use plexiglass, but could use wood too.

Worked good for me had about a half foot crack and chip...the trick I used was my wifes toy...as I put the resin in she was in the inside of the car and her her egg in a sock against the crack of the windshield. The vibrations from the sock egg vibrated the windshield enough so the resin would go into the crack. Then let it dry in the garage for two hours...then pulled it out in direct sun to let it bake for an hour..back in the garage let it cool down then scraped it you hardly can see it now...

Nice vid. I always leave the spring alone for a few mins to fully relax any remaining energy that might be left when lowering. Also a good idea to leave the strut when removing/installing a spring so when removing or installing, if it slips, you have somewhat a shield for the spring to hit before it flys out at you. Done this many times
@fiveohmxco

Great tips. I think when I installed the springs like a decade ago I must’ve used a compressor. I was surprised at the lack of KZfaq guidance for this!

Thanks for this video. I’m doing these LCAs, lowering springs, caster camber plates, and a bump steer kit on my 88 GT. Do you think it makes sense to start with removing the caliper, like you did here? I watched another video that where they don’t remove the caliper and it suggested separating the spindle from the control arm with a hammer. That seems…odd, especially since I’m doing it without a lift. I’m not sure what order to go in as far as removing the old control arm.
@fiveohmxco
@fiveohmxco Ай бұрын
I always get paranoid with brake lines personally (breaking them). Plus it’s only a couple bolts to get the caliper off, so unless it’s beneficial somehow to keep them on, id recommend taking them off. That’s exciting! I need caster camber plates one day!
