I remember back in '99, I was like maybe 12 or 13 and an older classmate showed me this site. I was traumatized on some of the content I'd watched. There was one about this one guy that was flattened by a train, a lady whom had elaphantis mammalis or something and she was pregnant...There was also a skeletal woman who was still alive. I actually believed everything I saw and decided to stay away from the internet. I couldn't sleep in the dark for awhile. Then I got over it and basically just kinda got curious and looked it up on here. Maybe relive some kind of trauma and reassure myself it wasn't really that bad.

God I'm sad that I never actually went on Newgrounds as a kid (but I would have been too young) but I'm lucky I got to experience a lot of their best flash games anyway as they got ported to other sites.

Great video series, thanks for making it! I'm genuinely surprised that something like this exists, given the sheer amount of content that was wiped from KZfaq in 2009 or so. WalrusGuy, Deepercutt, and KroboProductions were the "big three" of YTP, at least from my memories from 2007/2008.

i would dip my toes in amoeba infested water for 15 minutes than watch a video that's main point is "I didn't find it funny, so nobody should find it funny."

Dorkly is an example of seasonal rot. Early vids are witty, like the one with Braid. But later on, they really rely on predictable or poorly-researched moments. Even the thumbnails/titles don't look appealing. To me, they're made by a team who knows the surface level, but fails to make a joke past the first two/three levels but then skips to some other levels. In the MSM parody, they somehow didn't address the fact that Noggin and Mammott can create a Drumpler. They only know the most recognizable monsters. The vid mostly boils down to how Wubbox ditches his friends for temporary fame and fortune as well as them making funny noises for music. Not addressing that the lore has the Monsters and Humans interact much, or the fact Wubbox has a creator: Galvana. Also, the "My" part isn't even an aspect of the parody. You could just make it about Dreamworks Trolls and everything stays the same. The comments are wittier than the video.

I was looking through the internet archive at archives from 1997 of the website, and there was a photo called something like Pablo38 and the caption just said 'A murdered child sleeps.' You can guess what it was, and there was no other context. The image itself wasn't graphic but it was just sad, especially since there was no context to follow up with it.
