Thanks! That's a great version...and presentation. It's sort of a true story. My grandmother's brother 'Uncle' Dave Frey had a mountain camp modeled after Yosemite's Camp Curry located near Idyllwild and it went under due to poor access since the road from the Beaumont/Banning area wasn't completed till 1951. So, I simply moved the whole shebang to Beaumont after so many trips to the family mountain place and seeing the I-10 construction and completion bypass the roadside businesses there in the early '60's. Funny, I've come around to phrasing the song more like Steve Spurgin. Hey that Walker Creek Music Camp looks like fun!

So glad you enjoyed it Malcolm. Greg Blake is one of my favorite singers and story tellers. I've taken classes from him several times in Grass Valley and at Walker Creek. Walker creek is a blast. If you have a chance, the next camp will be held from October 24-27. Registration opens at noon on August 5th. Look me up if you make it to camp.
