Pretty close on a lot of issues, but a lot of this is like fifteen years behind most of gaming KZfaq rather than "facts most fans don't know", for example: - The idea that The Lost Levels was deemed too hard is nonsense - Nintendo of America was frequently editing games from Japan and Europe to be HARDER in the USA so that it was harder to rent the cartridge from BlockBuster, play it for one weekend, and return thus only securing a sale for BlockBuster and not the home console owner - Nintendo of _Japan_ were somewhat embarrassed by Super Mario Bros 2: The Lost Levels due to seeing it mostly as just a level pack for the first game and not a proper sequel; sure it had new levels, bounce physics from jumping enemies was tweaked, and a lot of the sprites/tiles were touched up visually but it wasn't an impressive sequel as well as having the exact same plot. Not _greatly_ embarrassed, mind you, just finding it not to have the wow factor a sequel ideally should have. - Doki Doki Panic wasn't unrelated, it was a Mario sequel prototype that could have become Super Mario Bros. 3, but Nintendo worked out a license with FujiTV to develop something for the upcoming festival (with its Middle Eastern/Arabian Nights and masks theme). The main family of the cast were the only FujiTV characters involved, all the enemies were made by Nintendo, hence their not needing to change. - As the FujiTV license for the festival would have made all the game's hard work fairly disposable and basically pointless to localize in places other than Japan, Nintendo was able to simply remove Fuji's characters and put Mario characters in their place. They made a couple other small changes, like making the world bosses vary a little more (Two Tryclydes instead of like four Mousers) and making the item that slides along the ground and kills enemies on contact a Koopa shell.

A tad misleading. Tyson only got 50K for use of his likeness but he also got royalties for each game sold. He also got more for "acting" in the commercials.

Keep in mind Capcom does this thing where they'll re-release something to "test the water" and see if people would be interested in something. If the Capcom vs collection sells well, there's a good chance we may get something like an X-Men 97 fighting game.

0:58 What music is that? 2:27 That's clearly the remastered game, not the original. 6:02 That cutscene is funny as that Helicopter is NOT in the game. Same with some of the Aeroplane cutscenes. 6:51 I recognise that waving woman! No idea why! Age Of Empires had multiplayer BEFORE C&C...as did other games at the time. How do you unlock those Dinosaur missions...? C&C was a great game. Guns and Tanks, and a kickass soundtrack that blows all other RTS games out of the water! The games concept is simple: Command and Conquer. The title is literally the concept. I like that.

"The real question is: Is it better than 007?" Oh, hell yeah, it is. That's not even up for debate. Perfect Dark is Goldeneye 007, but BETTER. Better sound effects, better level design, better graphics. I mean, there's no point in going back to 007, when PD is right there. Ages much better than 007 does, too.

It would've made sense if Wolverine was a boss character and hidden fighter in fighting games whenever the player chooses a playable villain. • He can heal fast. • Wolverine's claws are unblockable in reality. • He would often end fights quickly with his claws.

I wouldn't say Turtles in Time is overrated, however it did give the game the closest adaptation to an arcade beat em up. If they could have ported over the original 1989 arcade adaptation to the SNES, that would have been excellent.

Thanks for securing my ever growing sentiment over the last couple of years that Turtles In Time is starting to get massively overrated.
@darthkai824210 күн бұрын
If you ever played the arcade with three friends frantically beating the shell out of the Foot, you would get it. The SNES port was great for its day, but even Streets of Rage 2 puts it to shame. But, in the arcade, with four kids throwing down at once is just something that can't be matched by a home cart. I'd rate Turtles in Time, my 8th fav beat-em-up on home consoles. Great, no doubt, but it gets repetitive quite quickly.

The rosters of X-Men CoTa and Marvel Super Heroes were pretty wild. The people who made the game really did research on the comic, specifically X-Men fatal attraction and Marvel's Infinity Saga. Psylocke and Silver Samurai were not featured in the X-Men animated series until after X-Men CoTa was released. (Silver Samurai episode was in 1996) And the decision to include Blackheart and Shuma Gorath and even Thanos was insane. Thanos stage really lifted out of the pages of the comic. They really went with what they personally like instead of who is the most iconic.

X-Men CoTA was released in between Super Street Fighter and Street Fighter Alpha 1. I suspected that at the time, Capcom wondered where to take Street Fighter franchise next (the obvious would be Street Fighter 3 as the next installment), and there was probably someone who came up with the idea of screen-filled special/super move, super jump, and such; but it was too wild for main Street Fighter, so they used it on X-Men instead. Darkstalkers was another route they could have taken, and then later, Street Fighter EX. By the time SF3 came out, people didn't have patient for it, and the team that ended up working on it have never made a fighting game before.
