Nice. My 3 are Scheherazade, the New World and Grieg’’s piano concerto in A Minor , with Rachmaninov 2 an honourable mention. Close!

OK, Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto #1, but played by Emil Gilels/ Fritz Reiner...Beethoven Piano Concerto #5, but played by Vladimir Horowitz/ Fritz Reiner... Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto #2, but played by Arthur Rubinstein/ Wallenstein (?) But, but, there are SO MANY MORE...! Cheers, massolrac 😎🖖Live Long & Prosper!

Fantastic selection! I will listen to the performances you mentioned. I just found the Rachmaninoff #2 performed by Rubinstein/Reiner, so will start with that first. Thanks!

Rachy's #2, Liszt's Second Hungarian Rhapsody, Greig's Piano Concerto in A minor. And, if I get a 4th choice Rachy's Variations on a Theme by Paganini.

@@MelodiousHeart1 Thanks! My father was a concert pianist and I got exposed to great music at an early age. Can’t forget Chopin, either. #1 thing great classical music has to have are great melodies, and I see you have that baked into your name.
@MelodiousHeart13 күн бұрын
@@Zircon10 I agree that great melodies are essential for great classical music. I like your expression "baked into your name". 🙂

See in Rimsky-Korsakows Scheherzade and listen the blonde clarinetist Nadja Drakslar (Slowenija) - my favourite clarinet player in the world. She’s full of music life and emotion and plays with full engagement every concert.

Those are all gorgeous and capture the feeling intended perfectly of each respective composer. I love your channel, most list channels, including the big ones, don't even put a fraction of effort and research into theirs as you do yours. I'm very much impressed with this.

Her hair was so short at age 9. I wonder if she had her hair cut as punishment for not playing perfectly by her parents. Having short hair was not considered attractive back then. She may have what is known as “Tiger Parents” . Just saying….🤔
