I've had my Canon EOS 90D for almost 3 years and I still believe this is a one of a kind DSLR to have in your collection! I learned a lot from using this camera. I was a bit hesitant at first, but once I understood the basics of photography and benefits of using the EOS 90D I can say it made me more confident to use it more often!

I'm planning 3-4 weeks in July-August. I would like to go into it without prebooking any accomodation prior to the trip, maybe a day or two before when I've gotten on the move. I would just need a decent place to sleep. Is it doable or too naive? And when travelling with a larger backpack, where do you keep it all day? Ideally I would move around with a daypack.

Was going to get the R5 but I decided to go with another 90D. The 90d megapixels is great for run and gun. These days with all these new cameras options with 4k and 8k remind me of ev cars with all these options to go any and everywhere. However when you get to 90% of the charging stations when you pull up the just don't work. If you are doing a lot of youtube and weddings a lot of the new cameras are just overkill. 8K REALLY 4k has not even been mastered. When facebook or youtube gets a hold of it the content on these new cameras the videos are simply compressed down shelling out 5-10 k for a camera when dealing with mostly average couple weddings who are on budgets is just not ideal. Where are they doing to store the space with all those big files lol The 90 D is a great camera for all your photography needs. I have some great lenses for it. Great content and video Collin. Thank you

swiss guy here. really liked this video of yours, Collin. But I would need to disagree on switzerland. switzerland is expensive and locals are pretty closed off to tourists. especially people who are there alone. In terms of safety its great here. But you RARELY go into a sit-down dine restaurant in Switzerland alone without getting a weird look. I hate that this country is like that.

I love my 90D, it's an absolute beast for wildlife and bird photography. Unfortunately, the writing is on the wall for Canon dslr cameras. Its not that there is anything wrong with the gear (personally I love all my dslr's) but as the years go by, Canon will simply discontinue service parts for ef lenses and dslr cameras so that when they break, malfunction or date, you will not be able to get them repaired or serviced. I have an old ef 24 - 70 mm f2.8 i L lens. The glass is perfect but the autofocus is shot and it gives me error readings. I took it to Canon to be repaired, but since the parts are discontinued, they just won't help me and I have to throw what was an expensive lens at the time into the dustbin. I think that ultimately, this is what will happen to their entire dslr range and to the ef lenses. For us, "average Joe's", investing in camera bodies and lenses is not a cheap exercise. I find it extremely frustrating that having invested so heavily in dslr camera bodies and ef lenses and having at last built up a fairly respectable camera bag, that Canon has just decided to press gang all of us into its mirrorless mania. It is for this reason that if I was buying my first camera today, I would go mirrorless and begin a collection of rf lenses.

Great tips! Seems like you've learned and grown a lot, you're way ahead of your time for your age, and a wonderful, fulfilling and successful life waits ahead for you. Only suggestion: don't refer to wiser older people as "old people". Just call them older people or similar without disrespecting them. You're already "old" to younger kids and time flies so fast, that you'll be the "old people" in no time. Anyway, all the best and good luck on your life journey!

Wasted your 20s? You traveled more in your 20s than most people do in their entire lives. Your Europe trip alone is more than most people will ever do or see in their lives. When you look back at 45 you will realize you did NOT waste your 20s - you lived them. The problem with your generation (i'm much older, this is not a dig on younger people) is that you all judge yourselves against social media influencers who LOOK like they have everything. When you do this you feel like you are missing something. Compare yourself to yourself: Have you done more than you did last lear? Based on your videos, you've already accomplished more at 28 than others your age and even people at 45. At 18 - 28 you will not have you life figured out. No one does - ever. But so many young people today think they have to have everything figured out as soon as they are out of high school/college. Life doesn't work that way. You wasted nothing.
@user-nf4gy3kh5k
@user-nf4gy3kh5k Ай бұрын
I agree, though it depends on the amount of time - years - traveling, because there's the opportunity cost of time for which there's a very small windows of opportunity in the labor market. It's very hard to apply to jobs, once you're older and competing with young kids with degrees or years of work experience. So, it really depends on what the person is planning to have as their source of income to survive - either work for someone or work for yourself. Employers don't really care if you know the world but are a 30 year old with no skills to get, hopefully, a decent paying job. In addition, technology advances so fast that you really need to keep up, otherwise, you're screwed. Nonetheless, if you use your time traveling the world WHILE also developing your personal and professional skills at the same, like online courses, volunteering or working short-time jobs in other countries, learning new languages at a fluent level, or starting your own business online while traveling - that seems fine to be able to go back home and still be successful in society which has advanced more than you imagine. If work and money is not an issue, than go for it without caring about all this. Otherwise, do travel the world but try to make a source of income while you are at it and look for opportunities to develop tangible skills for later in life.

I used a T3i and T5i body for video work over the last 10 years. Only need 2 lenses for 90% of my shoots (Sigma 30mm 1.4 & Sigma 10-20mm ultra wide) Just picked up the 90D with the 18-135mm. The auto focus is SO much faster!!! Thought about going "all in" on the Sony AS7 III system but balked when saw how much $$$ it would cost to fully update the lenses as well. APS-C lenses are DIRT CHEAP now and the 90D is a nice upgrade to compliment my investment in older APS-C lenses. As a bonus... software like Topaz Video AI can be used for final edit upscaling and frame rate conversion. This allow me to maintain a 1080p workflow and use the software to convert the final edit to 4K without having to deal with the data management & processing headaches of large 4K native files. Sure, I'd love to work in 4K all the time, but its such a pain in the ass. 1080p is way smoother and quicker.
