31:10 "sometimes you have no sh*t detector" (Guffaws) (no one else laughing), *_"and I think_* that's what happened that night." Very creepy.

Poor Richard. I can’t imagine being asked about a deceased child of mine by anyone, much less an interviewer I barely know. The death of a child is something you work around, but you never ever get over it.

Directed by Peter Levelle for Beechurst Films, around 1984. This is in Binsted Church, and I can remember that because an electrician called me over and said: 'guess who is in the graveyard?' he took me over and showed me Monty's grave which at that time seemed a little un cared for. The electricians had power cables snaking around the graveyard from the generator behind, but thoughtfully did not have them draped across any graves, least of all Monty's. Took us a day to shoot; I think the bellringers were the actual bellringers. DOP was Ian Wilson, BSC. We did quite a few of these 'Nothing should disturb that Condor Moment' ads. Probably CDP as Peter had a lot of contacts there.

Most of the bandmembers had a day off? Only Tortelvis, Charlie and Carl Jah on stage among with stand-ins.

That makes sense. I was in hospital as a kid in 86 and remember reading a mag saying Madness were splitting. Didn't mean much to me back then, not as a fan at least. Divine Madness and Madstock changed all that.

Four guys from Swindon do Krautrock. This was the first Andy Partridge song where I realised I was in the presence of a major league songwriting talent.

OOPS!!! (Dame Helen is just what she is... A CLASS ACT and a gifted actress...) HOWEVER, Matthew Kelly really puts Frank Skinner on the spot... (Skinner DID INDEED make jokes about Kelly's arrest, though no charges followed and Kelly was totally exhonerated...) Skinner SHOULD HAVE admitted that that he got it wrong, made an 'off the cuff' bad joke that suggested Kelly's guilt when he wasn't... Look, it's the way 'Live Comedy' works, I don't think Skinner (a very intelligent and natural entertainer) was being malicious or hateful... (But he COULD HAVE owned up...) "It was a bad call, I went for the cheap laugh, if that hurt you, and it obviously did, I unreservedly apologise..." But he didn't say that. Kelly (1) - Skinner (0)... xx SF

It was always fun twiddling the volume knob, turning it up to full to hear 'Whispering Bob', then turning it back down when the bands played. The Old Grey Whistle remains my favourite ever music programme on tv.

Is it just me or was the whole show about school boys in some form of another. School boys with hard ons, school boys with toffees, school boys with mobile phones. School boys being abused by Guests. Matthew Kelly must of known the set up.

I just love how their mum is irish and still lives in that same house. Both liam and noel have offered to buy her any house anywhere she wants, and she just wants to stay in the same place theyve been since the mid-eighties. Shows how down to earth and normal as a mother she was and still is, fair play to them all. The amount of break-ups, nights out and important times of my life that were helped by that band is immense. Going out to a club in the early 2000's pissed up on oasis songs to get girls was the best craic ever, we all thought in our drunken states we were rock n roll stars and scoring with any girl was possible!! For their mums sake, i hope they can be brothers again. Irish mothers like her might not show it, but going to bed every night, she will be wishing they would put the past behind them and be brothers.

I remember that, my oldest sister bought a copy of the album, must've been from a Church Jumble sale, and my youngest brother then transferred it to tape, and for years after I thought he had got the speed wrong when he copied it.
