Hey there, I just was curious if the tcm you repaired is still holding up and working well? I have a 2009 Mazda 3 that's been sitting for about a year and all signs have pointed to something wrong with the tcm, and I'm debating on sending it in, paying the $300 to have it fixed or just attempt it myself. Thanks, and I really appreciate all the video recordings. I wish we all recorded are own fix it videos to share.

@@djtrykle Hey. Unfortunately that only works for a bit, then the car started doing the same thing since I also didn't replace any of the components inside it. We ended up buying the new dealer TCM. It's working fine now. I recommend just doing the new TCM event if it's not cheap because it will just work. The only thing I did do is moved it to the firewall instead of above the transmission. It just gets too hot there. I meant the whole engine does but the transmission tends to get hotter.

@@chocolatejosh666 This one just stopped working. It would turn on sometimes at the end but then it just would not. It didn't matter what the weather was so it was on its last leg.

We just went around the block. He does this right before he gets home. We were less than 10 feet from the house .

@@myshots101 My collie used to pull on the way out for a walk and pull behind me on the way home. He didn't want to go home either.

No need. You lose what's in the reservoir and maybe a little bit more I just added what I lost and checked it again later to make sure it was at the correct level.

Yes but the updates stopped at two years. I think it was actually before that. Other than that it still works. They have one that does key programming. They don't have that on this one.

I'm glad it was helpful. You're right about the editing but honestly that takes a long time sometimes and I just hate doing it. But I do try. If you have the parts you may be able to fix the tcm. Unfortunately I didnt have any and was unsure if it would work. So I got it to work a bit but in the end just had to get a new one. I showed everything on the videos including the new part in the last video. Thanks for the feedback.

Nothing. It's old so just use your fingers. I show you on the first video of the tcm.

These work fine. Even the more expensive cameras have problems..

@@myshots101 Yet you're replacing the previous one because it didn't work fine. Yeah, That can happen to any dashcam - my comment was regarding the camera resolution and the ability to read a license plate while on the move. Even 4K cameras struggle with this at closer ranges than you would expect.

@@TheCSRTech Yeah the old dash cam came broken so I tried fixing that, hence the reason I changed it. Also obviously the small cameras are not true 4k if you think they are. Although there are some with better image quality they still won't work that great all the time.

"Any money spent on a non-4K dash cam these days is money wasted." I had a cheapie camera, son gave it to me when he bought a more expensive one that was no better. Paid for itself when an idiot in a Volvo slid into my car in the snow. My car was a write off but it showed exactly what happened and showed her lies up to the insurers (she wasn't aware of the dashcam). I ruined it when I tried to put the SD card back in so have bought a similar cheap one. I had intended fitting a 10" mirrorcam principally as a reversing camera as rearward vision was limited. Don't need that now as car was replaced. Both the new and the old camera have/had a rearview camera but never fitted.

Cool. Yeah just change both and save yourself the headache. The car won't run if it's not connected so fix it before it leaves you stranded.
