Chect to see if your tensioner has a locki g tab at the bottom if so no tools required just pull the belt with one hand and push the locking tab with the other hand you can upgrade your tensioner with the tab.

If you’re doing this in your truck, my advice is to tie a piece of fishing line on that clip because not if but when it pops and flies, you’ll be able to retrieve it😅

Headlight switch just pulls forward with a screwdriver....easy to pull out...if your first 2 digits of your odometer are out...taking the dash out is the same procedure...then 4 bolts for the gauge panel....could have gotten a control box that mounts to the dash...instead of drilling the dash...

do you have to remove the dash like you did to install it

I have a 7.3 in a 99 F550 manual tranny. Truck is currently running in de-fuel mode due to overboost I believe. Maybe my waste gate is stuck closed. Maybe I should set it to open at 5 psi to get it to run regularly. What do you think?

My 7.3 in my 99 F550 manual tranny is currently in the defueling mode I believe from overboost. Maximum highway speed is 42 mph. I believe the computer does this to keep the engine from overspeeding the turbo wheels ie fans. Maybe my waste gate is stuck closed. What would be wrong with setting the waste gate actuater to start opening at 5 psig of pressure? Maybe engine will then not run in limp mode(defuel mode). I would appreciate your opinion.

I just completed this boost gate adjustment on my 2001 F250 2wd and was blown away with the increase in acceleration with no load. Can’t wait to tow my toy hauler travel trailer. Prior to this I could never get above 15 to 16 psi on my boost gauge. Now my friend wants me to do this mod to his 96-97 OBS 7.3. It may be easier bc the smaller turbo allows more access to that difficult e-clip. Any experience on doing the older smaller turbo? Any video on these?

Can you drill and tap a hole in the exhaust somewhere… nvm instantly answered. Thanks for listening lol. Venturi effect what if it is closer to the end of the exhaust setup like a carb jet. Would there be an issue with running such a long hose? It might be able to actually produce a slight vacuum on the crank case which would be good right.

So, I went the route of using the commercial International CCV Pre filter so it acts as a catch can prior to venting to the atmosphere. I did this after having issues with just venting to the atmosphere. I actually overengineered this simple mod and did it the way it was from the factory on the commercial trucks. I used line diameter, length, general placement, etc. Unfortunately, I fought oil leaks like crazy. I had to do my oil pan gasket three times due to crankcase pressure before finally going back to stock. I have not had a problem since. I wish it worked for me. I now deal with the oil in my intake piping but it was not worth it for me. I am very mechanically capable and have built many cars and motorcycles over the years. It is certainly NOT an installation issue. My guess is that there is enough variation in the 7.3 build specs that some trucks are not able to utilize this modification. I have a 2000, F350. Possibly the year matters as internals are different in the early model trucks. I dunno...

I got a 99 7.3L with 163k miles and I get the same amount of white smoke coming out the tube but the cap doesn’t budge at all. It freaked me out when I saw the smoke but it seems like your trucks running fine and does it too so I’m less worried now

OMG 3 Screws were stopping my 06 from blowing this whole time. Just removed the air blocking door flap from above the blower…DUDE YOU SAVED MY SUMMER!!!!! Literally took me 5 minutes to have air freely flowing… got the truck in 2015 and dreading summers and winters due to lack of forced air. Not any more

That’s not that big of a turbo or injector size. That’s a perfect tow set up. “Built” to me is 205cc plus.
