I bought a 2021 Ranger RB 200. It was supposed to be an upgrade from my 2008 Tracker V 18. I’m a Crappie fisherman so I don’t need $100,000 boat. The 2021 had to be returned to the factory because of many issues. They gave me a 2023 with the exact same issues. It was not checked for quality when it left the factory. White River builds fast and expects dealers to fix them to not leak and to perform. Many dealers have poor quality mechanics that do not stay in one place long. These quality issues mean your boat goes back and forth to the shop. I am 65 years old and I am one of the sportsman that made Johnny Morris a 8.5 billionaire. He has turned his back on the working people and show boats all his professional sportsman to create more sales. If you call Ranger customer service, you will understand all the negative comments below. Yours truly, Still trying to stop my Ranger from leaking 3 years later.

Wow! Congrats on the tournament win! I appreciate the attitude of as long as they make it right I'm good. I'm the same way, but I do pause at the point of the fender flying off on the drive home from delivery. I think that warrants a U turn and "deliver" it back to the dealer. As you say everything is hindsight now as far as the coulda /shoulda done this or that. I guess the moral of the story is if you do decide to buy a boat from Bass Pro, go over it with a fine tooth comb before accepting delivery and taking it off their lot. I don't know how their payment / delivery is set up of when you pay and how much, but I think they've earned enough of a bad reputation you don't sign the last paperwork on the loan / or hand over your certified check until it's delivered and you inspect it.

BASS PRO SELLS CRAP BOATS.

My absolute favorite boat as far as design and layout is the Z21 Nitro, but I’d never own one because I’ve seen to many of these videos and comments. I went to look at them a few times when I was getting ready for my next bass boat purchase. I went with Skeeter. I probably would have bought Nitro if the negative comments would have been mostly one or two items but most everyone I’ve seen had a half a dozen or serious issues. No boats are perfect but Nitro seems to lead the pack with issues. Yes I’ve owned a new Nitro, bought it back in the 90’s, and it was a good problem free boat, but that boat was built by what I’d call master craftsmen. From what I hear these days a lot of the boat manufacturers; including White River Marine Group are building their boats with warm bodies off the street, hence the issues.

Nitro is a good or great boat . It's like you said it's not the boat it's the dealer. Just use a different dealer. Joe

Worked for Ranger Boats in early 2000. Randy Hopper ran it at this time. Quality and perfection were a must. We only built Rangers at the time. The company was sold to Platinum Equity a few years later and we started producing Stratos and Triton boats and everything was still built by the same standards. I believe when Johnny Morris bought Ranger Boats and forced Randy Hopper and Keith Daffron out is when the quality went down. Most of the seasoned employees left and went to work for Vexus Boats that is ran by Hopper and Daffron.

You all should sell your boat and buy a race car. That's what Nitro is all about. I've seen many huge fish taken without a speed boat. That way you can go fast AND catch fish when you're not driving fast.

Does having a high priced boat make you catch more and bigger fish or is it just the fantasy of being in a tournament like "The Big Boys"?

Was just catching this as I happen to be in the market for a boat, and you missed a 4th type of guy... for as much as these things cost, if it wasn't 100% to spec, it would've never been hooked up to my truck to begin with. Period. I'm a bit older than you, and I've been down this path before... hope and $2 will buy you a cup of coffee. If you accept delivery, all they're going to do is string you along... make it right before I take it. I know you wanted it, and wanted to get it out, but the patience is worth it. I am glad it all eventually worked out for you.

My z18 Pro is bulletproof, but the trailer was shit. I ended up buying a custom trailer. Dual axle with breaks, step up, swing back tongue, carbon fenders, rubberized bunks. It cost me 5k cdn, but it was worth every penny. I still have it 4 years later, I gave it to my son to fish his high school league. Only work I did was having SeaDek professionally installed. I have an 2024 Skeeter FXR21 Apex now, and it’s getting rigged up for this year’s season. electronics, talons, all the good stuff. I wanted an Ikon, but there isn’t a single dealer in Canada.

Man, two more weeks to our first tournament of the year up here, and im so damn excited all I can do is watch fishing videos. New FXR21 Apex w/ a 250hp Yamaha, custom to me. I absolutely love my 2018 Nitro Z18, and im keeping it for my son to fish high school and hopefully college with. The Skeeter is going to be my tournament boat for at least 4 years.

Skinny gunnels lead to rods going over the side if your not carefull. I own a Skeeter and wish the gunnels were a little taller but thats just me.

Nitro has always been a first time buyers boat.Most people who buy one don’t buy a second.Years ago every Nitro on the new lots were being sold way underpowered.
