The seismic charge scene was only put in for fan service, and I LOVE IT

yeah it's fantasy, but the point of this scene was to give people a moment of realization that the people working for the empire are just humans who made rational choices that took them there. Lots of people in the empire are 'bad' but you can't just always assume things, especially when their faces are hidden.
