I bet the studio only did these to steal 3D scans so they could make it cheaper. The creature designs are pretty much identical in practical and CG

They brought back the original Aliens queen prop and worked so hard to restore it only for it to be slapped apart by the Newborn 😂

All i can imagine is the lead design and prop manager just walking into a room and saying "ok ladies and gentlemen, let's make some nightmarish abominations that will traumatise anyone that see them, ourselves included"

Griggs thing in the movie is easily the worse cgi effect in the movie. This phone camera footage without proper lighting blows it out of the water.

I wonder why ADI went this style of plasma caster. There was another dope variation where the cannons fold nestly against the shoulder blades. Theres sketches of the design online . Looks like The plasma canons fold into the medkit or cleaner kit . Thats the best version in my opinion.

If someone needs help with the CPC (KY Jelly plumbing) connections or Futaba remote control configurations for this prop, please contact me by responding to this comment. I did a lot of the engineering work at that time and I can spec out the majority of needed hardware. It shouldn’t cost that much. We don’t get many opportunities to interact with our babies once they leave the shop. :-)

I had never noticed she had vag on her neck... Was that always in her original design (created by Cameron) or something they added for this movie?
@georgezee517317 күн бұрын
Okay, after doing a bit of research it was technically part of the original Aliens design. However, in was way more subtle in that movie in and can easily go unnoticed xD

The best way to get a good look at the creatures shouldn't have been from a behind-the-scenes featurette.

What's really bad about them cutting this out of the movie is the geometric hologram they replaced it with. In the first place, what was that supposed to be? Since I first saw it, I've been confused. You'd think they would have replaced it with something logical, but I guess the studio thought "It's a sci-fi movie. It doesn't have to make sense."

I wish you guys made a behind the scenes videos of the early 80's movie The Day After. I'd like to see how were those mushroom clouds from the nuking were made. Even if it's a video with only photographs of the production, that's fine.

A full exploration in the alternative directors cut should be explored. The Last Voyage of The Demeter proved that enhancing practical effects is better than full replacements.

Currently going through this entire video and screenshotting every image to the best of my ability, although the fade effect means the top and bottom get cut off a lot. I'm going to put it in my art reference folder to study because this is all so good!! ❤

In these times of crappy remakes, THIS is actually one movie I wouldn't mind seeing a remake of ... only this time with Ridley Scott at the helm, as well as those AMAZING vampire designs being included! 👍👌Just as long as Arnold or Dwayne Johnson ISN'T in the lead role of Neville! 🥴😂
