Wow...how much time I spent with my dad in hobby stores, department stores, country stores, etc., in the 60's! He was INTO models. Planes, mostly, but all things military; limited automotive. A member of IPMS. He traded models with guys in Poland and Czechkoslovakia. He would receive the packages and they had OBVIOUSLY been scrutinized along the way! The patience and attention to detail he had didn't carry over to me. Had literature, books, boxes of decals, more Flo-Quil paint than anyone. He had it all....in spades. Mr. Meticulous. Had been in 2 branches of the military. Marine Pvt, 1st Lt. Army. Witnessed Nevada Atomic Tests. Got a degree in Mathematics. Was an instructor in Artillery and Chemical warfare. And worked for Douglas Aircraft in the MATH department for 5 years. When he passed, he had nearly 4000 brand new models still in boxes (I counted every last one) and 1000+ he had built himself. And THEN, there were his other hobbies....guns, especially. 100+ top notch guns when passed. Somehow he found the time to become a competent gunsmith...attended classes. And a Air Base Museum volunteer! Buried at a National Cemetery with his site overlooking the Air Base....of course! Miss ya pops.

i saw a couple cools ones, but really i saw the cream of the crop that would have taken all my money at exactly 18:00 minutes in. right above the munsters blueprinter box is the grail kit of "The Good Guys" taxi cab kit. i actually have one, but its a glue bomb to be restored some day when i can find a cheap enough 27 lincoln to use some parts from even though i will need some sort of replacement decals. thanks again for the awesome walk around

@RPMGamesАй бұрын
@@ruckusrodkustom8140 i dont know what a fair price fr that kit would be, i do know it was the guy selling his entire collection for 4500 i think, had a phone number as well. it was too hard to see the price on the kit, but i am sure it wasnt cheap, i did also see a few other show rod kits here n there but i have most all of them, so not a big deal, looked like a nice venue of models and you are right, military kits near a military base area would have to be a great place to sell them at, thanks for letting me know you can check on that kit price for me, if its under $100 i would probably be interested and might be able to find some method of affording it, its not like a super cool car or anything, but it is a movie car that very few people even know exists and that is why i love it, plus its kind of kookey, ps. i am doing well lately and always glad to have you as a friend.

@@RPMGamesit looks like he has $125 marked on it. He is the guy selling the whole lot. I don’t know if he bargains or not. I will look for it next time. I know the kit so when I see it, I’ll know you want it.
@RPMGamesАй бұрын
@@ruckusrodkustom8140 $125 seems up there for it, but again, its never been re-issued as that kit, im sure there are stock versions of the lincoln out there as i have looked for parts to fix my rebuilder of it. but there are some parts that are very specific to that kit alone, decals especially, let alone the box art of it, if he is willing to come down off that price to get it in the hands of someone (me) who will try to do it proud and get the word out about its cool factor and history etc,, that would be awesome. i will send you an email to talk further about this and i do appreciate you taking the time to look into it for me.

I always enjoys seeing what is selling at shows with videos like these even if I can't buy anything.
