Emmissions are going up steadily, and there's only token efforts are being forwarded. Why is that? It's the economy, stupid.

It was an interesting Talk about High Sensitivity people and new studies. As one of them, I feel the majority of times overstimulated by the eyes of the people. When I feel stared, I feel like it's too much for me. I tend to lay my head down in order not to get overstimulated. Another thing is, I'm afraid of conflict and the reactions of people. Being the case, I say something that upset me to other person. The reaction that my response may do in others, make me thing as something bad could happened because I may hurt the other feelings even when it's my right to say how I feel. Another important and consequent point for me is that I get overstimulated by shopping or by walking and deciding which way preferably to go. And you know it's exhausting. I feel really tired and feel like I need need and a moment of not be surrounded by all the "life" and estymula. Have you ever feel also not in a safe place when talking to others, even with family or friends? Even if the relationship is good, care and harmless. I tend to go inside my room whenever I feel someone coming. I have a feeling of surprise but it doesn't feel good. It's like I need to feel I can control the situation and me. Thanks Alane Freund for sharing your story to us.

Cant agree more: faculty writes a little bit of code as a grad student, never really gets any instruction. throw out some crappy code for your dissertation, and then you become a professor. and stop coding. SO they cant teach students, the whole process continutes over and over agian.

TLDListen by Claude 2. Actionable nuggets: 1. Use a 5-minute hourglass or timer to force yourself to get started on a task for just 5 minutes to overcome procrastination inertia. 2. Ask yourself "What would this look like if it were fun?" when approaching a tedious task, and find ways to incorporate more play, games, or arbitrary challenges. 3. Track metrics like word counts or time spent as a way to "gamify" tasks and make progress more motivating. 4. Before switching between tasks, take 30 seconds to make a specific plan for what you'll do when you return to help reduce attention residue. 5. Put important tasks, breaks, workouts, etc. in your calendar and treat them as commitments. 6. Adopt a mantra like "This one just needs to be reasonable" to lower the stakes and pressure on yourself. 7. Use techniques like playing music, setting time limits, or co-working to make tasks more enjoyable and energizing. 8. Surround yourself with energizing people and be conscious of your own energy - greet people enthusiastically, give compliments, and speak louder. 9. Do attention training by forcing yourself to read/work for 45 minutes without distractions from your phone. 10. Experiment with different techniques and strategies to find out what works best for your personal productivity needs.

The curse or conundrum of capitalism: Wealth distribution is in the hands of those who would much rather accumulate it and who have very little incentive to part with their hard earned cash. And if not contributing to the alleviation of hunger is deemed evil, what are we to say about not contributing to the alleviation of all other social scourges across societies? What if the Pope sold off all the papal properties to fight famine, instead of pontificating about it? What if dictators in poverty stricken banana republics like Russia, India, and all African and Latin American countries redistributed the public purse instead of hoarding it in Swiss bank accounts and buying yachts, aircraft and other playthings? The first, fundamental step to alleviating famine, is doing away with autocracies. Kim Jong-Un, has plumped up considerably while reducing his subjects to skin and bone. And how many palaces do Erdogan and Putin need? That's where the big money will come from. That's where immorality reigns supreme. It is grossly immoral to call a law-abiding citizen who may have a couple of extra bucks in his pocket immoral, because he doesn't send it off to a charity for hunger relief.

In the first class of my stats intro class, the instructor made it clear that there’s no easy way to achieve “randomness” in sampling. And in later classes, it’s a recurring theme of George Box’s quotes: all models are wrong but some are useful. Stats folks know our limits. And that’s the beauty of it. Keep us humble and watchful and probably overthinking a lot.

WTF Helping to feed the world's poor people isn't the same as solving or even helping them, all it does is gives justification to the stinking rich, the world bank has a hell of a lot to do with poverty and all those economists that help by giving loans, when they come with interest repayments attached, the bloody global economy has political party members giving baby bonuses to the poor just so they will have more poor people getting home loans to become the new indentured labor force that pays the wealthy children of the rich, join the workforce, as soon as possible because your parents aren't dropping dead in the sweatshops, they are retired and still alive, HOW DARE YOU GROW OLD POOR PEOPLE, so we need young slaves now, the world economic slave trade is the global economic competitive countries greatest achievement, I don't like living on the charity of others, would you? Do you think the Chinese laborers will ever become wealthy, do you think the majority of the western countries people are affluent? Well yes you do, fools, every time I hear educated people talk about ethics and world poverty and the environment I hear blind fools, who have been taught the language, the terminology of the wealthy education industry, the true artificial Intelligence, it's here already, it's just in humans that believe they are smart, solving world poverty isn't difficult compared to saving humans from themselves, idiots think saving life on earth is secondary to the economy.

What do the Twistors of Roger Penrose and the Hopf Fibrations of Eric Weinstein and the "Belt Trick" of Paul Dirac have in common? In Spinors it takes two complete turns to get down the "rabbit hole" (Alpha Funnel 3D--->4D) to produce one twist cycle (1 Quantum unit). Can both Matter and Energy be described as "Quanta" of Spatial Curvature? (A string is revealed to be a twisted cord when viewed up close.) Mass= 1/Length, with each twist cycle of the 4D Hypertube proportional to Planck’s Constant. In this model Alpha equals the compactification ratio within the twistor cone, which is approximately 1/137. 1= Hypertubule diameter at 4D interface 137= Cone’s larger end diameter at 3D interface where the photons are absorbed or emitted. The 4D twisted Hypertubule gets longer or shorter as twisting or untwisting occurs. (720 degrees per twist cycle.) If quarks have not been isolated and gluons have not been isolated, how do we know they are not parts of the same thing? The tentacles of an octopus and the body of an octopus are parts of the same creature. Is there an alternative interpretation of "Asymptotic Freedom"? What if Quarks are actually made up of twisted tubes which become physically entangled with two other twisted tubes to produce a proton? Instead of the Strong Force being mediated by the constant exchange of gluons, it would be mediated by the physical entanglement of these twisted tubes. When only two twisted tubules are entangled, a meson is produced which is unstable and rapidly unwinds (decays) into something else. A proton would be analogous to three twisted rubber bands becoming entangled and the "Quarks" would be the places where the tubes are tangled together. The behavior would be the same as rubber balls (representing the Quarks) connected with twisted rubber bands being separated from each other or placed closer together producing the exact same phenomenon as "Asymptotic Freedom" in protons and neutrons. The force would become greater as the balls are separated, but the force would become less if the balls were placed closer together. Therefore, the gluon is a synthetic particle (zero mass, zero charge) invented to explain the Strong Force. The "Color Force" is a consequence of the XYZ orientation entanglement of the twisted tubules. The two twisted tubule entanglement of Mesons is not stable and unwinds. It takes the entanglement of three twisted tubules to produce the stable proton.
