Great video of the starting lineup Brock. I like the background music, it reminds me of the music ABC used for the Indy broadcasts back in the 90's and it's also from the movie Delta Force. 😁👍🏻The music was used for the inaugural Brickyard 400.

I wore a Rinus Bitcoin shirt this morning and the Mclarens went 1-2, so in theory my switch to a black-green-white shirt is indicative that one of the Monster cars will win?

If you want to have a successful day at the Brickyard and kiss the bricks, in all likelihood, you have to qualify in the top three. That's where most of the winners have come from. But my pick, in the Indy/Charlotte double scheme, it is Yung Money Larson!

I've been sitting on row 1 behind the flag man since 98. I have the greatest moments in Ihistory where I have been in the picture as a background figure. I will say the 24 race was my all time favorite. Atlanta has been a stretch of a race for years. It was my sons first race so I was excited it was action packed. I haven't attended a race at Atlanta since 2016 since I was now working for general tire racing. After working in the industry will you understand why some just disappear. Im not saying its rigged, but as someone on the outside looking in it was magical, then the role was reversed and I saw debt and lies surrounded by drama. I loved the career but in 2022 I was ready to leave the grind. In 2024 I finally got the courage to become an outsider yet again, bit with a different perspective on the logistics and how the media and event management creates the magic

I miss the patronizing Kyle Petty when it was authentic. Now it's nostalgic and a parody of it's once self. KP criticized and gaslit everything with a cynical purpose, as if it was personal.

In a way, similar memories exist for those who followed F1 in the 1980's and 1990's. In the case of the 1990's, Michael Schumacher was understandably a name that popped up, given the controversial way he won the championship in 1994, before dominating the 1995 championship and then spending the next 5 years building Ferrari up to the point where they could win championships. While he was THE driver in the time I started following the sport in 1996, there were plenty of characters. For example, Nigel "our Nige" "Red 5" Mansell. He was always pushing himself and his cars to the absolute limit, up until his dominant title in 1992, he was usually the Bridesmaid (Second to Alain Prost, more of whom later, in 1986, Second to Nelson Piquet in 1987 and second again, this time to Ayrton Senna, we'll also come back to him, in 1991). With 31 career wins, he always seemed to relish the wave of support he got from British race fans. Then there was Alain "The Professor" Prost. Don't be fooled by the curly Black hair and long nose, making him look like a Science Professor, he was savy with his strategy calls, smooth on the controls and before Schumacher best them in later years, the holder of the record for most career Grand Prix wins. The we have Ayrton Senna "Do Brasil". Before his tragic death in May 1994, he was the enigma of the sport, fiercely competitive, especially against Alain Prost, but at the same time he probably had the biggest compassionate side of any driver, risking his own life by running across an active race track in Belgium to save fellow driver, Erik Comas' life after the Frenchman crashed heavily during Practice, being rendered unconscious by the impact. Even those at the back of the grid had interesting stories. Roberto Moreno, while best known for being booted by the Benetton team to make way for a certain Michael Schumacher, he seemed to be an expert at getting performance out of terrible F1 cars that shouldn't have even qualified. Riccardo "Tosser" Rosset, Brazilian pay driver who was always towards the back of the grid, including a 1998 season where he had 5 failures to qualify.

It's sad that drivers have to die to make motorsports safer. Even when there is a new safety protocol introduced in the present day, drivers more often than not push back against them. Just look at how many drivers criticized when they brought the halo into F1 back in 2018. Those same drivers are now grateful to have that on their cars after many horrific crashes since then. But at the same time, it also costed Jules Bianchi his life back in the 2014 Japanese GP for the FiA and F1 to look into driver/head protection in open wheel cars.
