Brilliant video Paul 10 years of caravaning wow we're not even a year into it yet lol paul have you ever had the issue with the pull out bed slats falling out of the plastic runner ? I will need to sort something I was thinking of bungee cords wrapped around the bit you pull out to put tension on the slats but that's if it works 😂 looking forward to seeing your next video ❤

We had a rear washroom on a few vans and loved it. Waste of space for us these days with the MH but we like out layout.

Hi Paul & Sarah I’ve only had 3 caravans, when we sold the first one despite the new one being a massive upgrade I cried my eyes out as it went up the road. My current van is our perfect layout, long parallel lounge, fixed French bed and full width rear washroom.

As you are discussing caravan floors , could I make owners of bailey caravans aware of the problem of water ingress under Alu-tech caravans. Water seeps behind the bottom skirt rail moulding and it is then pulled into the floor edges by capilary action. ( I have had this happen in three caravans) A guy came up with a solution on U-Tube, see vagabond life. An easier solution is to buy some good quality pvc tape and seal along the top of the mould and the caravan wall. "Check under the edges of your floor after heavy rain".

Hi Paul I use snow foam mine at the start of the season and at the end it’s makes life so much easy. I use Autoglym polar range stuff. I also use autobrite magieseal which is used by a snow foam Lance an the results are amazing 👍👌🏼 worth looking into mate. Also for the decals on the caravan I use autobrite abyss and I can’t rate the stuff enough 👍

Hi Paul. For even and really good results I use Demon Shine Wax. Spray on when wet from a pump spray bottle and then wipe dry as normal. It can be used on the windows but I usually polish the windows with Autogylm Glass cleaner. It comes up a treat. Might look at the foam stuff though. Thanks Phil👍🙂

As a high end car detailer for many many years this does concern me a little. Looking at the advert it describes a snow foam not a snow shampoo, you need to go though the photos, so I am not sure I would use this on the caravan. It is better to get a caravan cleaner and spray that onto the caravan. I have no problem with a pressure washer on a caravan as long as it is turned down and or keep the spray sway from the caravan a hose is better if you can. Remember that paint is 30 to 35 microns thick so always take care and try not to scratch it because a repair is not easy to do. James

Nice idea Paul , just one mistake is you should have tiled from the bottom left of the wall as this is where your eye lands when you come through the door, it's the same with a bathroom etc. tilers will start with a full tile where you first see as you come through the door and leave the cuts where you dont look initially. But it does look smart !.

Nice job and great improvement, it’s not each side of the window that is wrong, it’s the middle section, even if you run the strip along the bottom the next tile up will not match ( grout lines) maybe you should have started from the work top and pieced the top,

I have come to the conclusion that whatever make of van you buy they are just thrown together, the newer the worse. w ha a coachman, 2009 solid built and no problems. each newer van seems to be cheaper made. A family member bought. a van from Sussex a couple years ago, had a problem, found some rot in th floor and called the, they took it straight back and it was all cut out and replaced. They are good on the warranty at Sussex

Seems under the window doesn’t match those on either side… (note the horizontal beds) perhaps it would be more aesthetically pleasing to match up properly, Sarah will not allow what you’ve done methinks. Definitely makes a difference however…good luck with your remedials 👍

Our first fans suffered from delamination. Apparently there is a product on the market you can inject into the floor to make it solid again, we didn't bother we just got ourselves another van. Great video. ATB

i believe floor drop is where the floor comes away from sidewalls. the securing screws snap. delamination is a different thing

We had delamination in one of our vans, you can get a kit to DIY if it does happen,

Hi Paul, thanks for all your content, glad you found no signs of floordrop.I noticed you have a yellow awning rail protector in on the offside, I'm interested to know do you leave them in when towing and do u have a stopper to stop them moving around. I always remove mine before towing but I've often wondered if they'd stay in place. I know you can get plastic and metal stoppers but I've read the metal ones rust making them a pain to remove. Interested to hear what you do. Cheers Kev

That looks fine Paul, on mine that GRP covering on the underside had detached in between the two chassis rails between the door and the kitchen, about a square metre, it was actually hanging down, after doing a bit of digging I found out it was a common problem with Swift floors of that year and some had to go back to the factory to have a complete new floor fitted, it come to light when they were about 2 years old, so if yours was going to go, it would have gone by now

Had me worried there, phew.
