I'm in Colorado and would love to do a meet up with u at centera and scheels and maybe old town my SD needs to learn how to go on Escalators and I've never done a meet up so I'm wondering how she would do with another sd right next to her and what I mean by that is could she still focus when asked and not sniff him the hole time she's really good about that stuff but we haven't done something like that in a hot minute

Love the video but OMG be careful on escalator or moving walkways they can be extremely dangerous even for the most trained dogs.

We are fully aware of that thank you, he’s been trained to jump off and on and his nails were trimmed. Plus booties help a lot :)

I replace mine dogs water once a day but if it gets nasty after he comes from outside I’ll replace it. I don’t get the filter though lol. To me it seems like my dog prefers the natural water from outside more than filtered water.
@Chronically.Golden6 күн бұрын
The filter just helps so whatever water he doesn’t drink goes back in and is reusable:)

Really cute boots. My dog hates boots so any tips for desensitizing?
@Chronically.Golden18 күн бұрын
I recommend putting the back ones only and just leave them in during the day and then put the front ones on with the back ones over night so they sleep in them and that’s it. Also make sure to treat whenever they walk or don’t pick at them!

Yep ik that, it was too big and it kept slipping. I was pulling it up every 5 mins but it just kept slipping. Don’t assume. We’ve since then got him a smaller one and a collar to keep it up :)

im so sorry you had to deal with this. im always paranoid this bc im 20yr old female handler as well and my dog is also a retriever so people dont get intimidated either :/ i have ptsd too so the paranoia and hypervigilance is insane and i always question if its really a creep or im paranoid... was also followed by a man in blue ha- like last week. entire time in home depot he kept lingering on every single aisle we went on. thankfully when we left my dad picked me up right at the exit. also unrelated where'd you get his collar?

Do you face problems due to breed discrimination? I also have a fainting condition that I'm getting a service dog for and I'm still deciding on breed. I've been considering a staffordshire terrier but I'm worried that have a 'bully breed' service dog would cause a lot of unwanted attention or problems.
@Chronically.GoldenАй бұрын
Yes I did, I also wouldn’t recommend them as a service breed. Yes they are great family dogs and such but to be honest I faced way too many issues with his breed and he also doesn’t have a huge drive. If your looking for a scary breed I would go for a Dobie or if your looking for a breed similar to a staffy check out a boxer!
@Chronically.GoldenАй бұрын
But that being said you also may face issues with a boxer. A great first time service dog breed would ideally be a lab, golden, poodle or a cavi!

I have a question. I told my best friend about the possibility of me getting a Psychiatric service animal, and she said. “Oh. I want one too. I get really bad panic attacks during thunderstorms.” I tried to gently suggest ideas about ways to comfort, like ESSAs or ESA’s but she insisted she wanted a PSD for public access rights. She kept saying “what If It’s storming while I’m at school?” And i just gave in after that.. what should I do?
@Chronically.Golden2 ай бұрын
That’s a good question, but what I’m hearing from her side, isn’t very debilitating at all. I also suffer with PTSD and loud noises, but I wouldn’t get a service dog alone just for that as it’s not debilitating as much as my other conditions. You can suggest an ESA to her again and ask her to go to her doctor because you have to have a disability to have a service dog. Also some schools do allow essays unfortunately, if it has a doctors note, so you can tell her that too but it’s totally depends on stay in school. :) hope this helps. Also tell her to ask for medications! CBD is great but there are psychiatric meds too.

I’m in the process of training my dog for my toddler, been training for awhile now. She’s autistic and non verbal. This scares the crap out of me! My baby needs a large dog for her issues and I’m seriously debating on if having a service dog while out and about will actually make things worse or not because of the public. It’s so sad ! What is wrong with people ?!?
@Chronically.Golden17 күн бұрын
As an autistic person it was definitely one of the things that I was worried about too. When I first got a sd it was really hard bcs I typically go mute in public, but with my service dog he would jump in me if I dissociated while a person was trying to talk to me and try and remind me to breath. So I would def think abt it more especially bcs your kiddo is nonverbal but also maybe think about getting her a shirt or lanyard or patches on the dog that says she’s nonverbal!❤️
