Awesome, thanks so much Vern for lighting up the life of a 12 year old boy, 47 years ago. I had so much fun with these and it really got me thinking about physics, electricity, and combustion. I later went on and became an engineer at Nasa, building the External Tank for the shuttle. I then ventured on with Engineering to help out the Pharma industry to help create cancer fighting drugs, and others, which I feel is a higher calling. Its difficult, either one, but you helped to get me started.

This one is really fun to fly over 2000ft if you can master the fin install. But yes multiple stages can be difficult to find need lots of people watching flight. Successfully built and launched commanche 3 with my nephews help. We recovered all stages some with minor damage reattached fin after turbulent landing almost got a hole in one on golf course 😅. Great video nice launch!

Riptide was the first model rocket I ever flew. I got it for my 9th birthday all the way back in 2017.

What one uses to launch these products and their vocabulary: Launchpad McQuack-with rod, blast deflector plate and three legs Darkwing Duck (real name Drake Mallard)-Launchpad's sidekick who runs on batteries and has clips which attach to igniters Gosalyn Mallard-Darkwing's daughter who stands atop Launchpad's rods while Darkwing is hooking up to the rocket engine's igniters. When ready to launch, she sits in Darkwing's hole lighting Darkwing's light. As soon as the countdown is finished, Darkwing's button is pressed, igniting the engine and launching a rocket.
