Laptops are really funny after a BIOS and driver updates. So head into your UEFI (BIOS settings) and hit enter on "Restore Settings To Default" then "Save and Exit". This cleared up my issues on my RTX 2070 laptop and I have been doing it ever since on all my laptops including AMD systems. Hope this helps you get this beast back on track.

@@doolittle_ both of them are great. They have their positives and negatives. The x1 can be hard to hold up if laying down for long periods of time. Has a high tdp unplugged. @@gsdbp7893 so the current two versions are a 4060 model with 16gb of ram and the 4070 with 32 gb of ram. Both laptops come with soldered ram, meaning that it cannot be upgraded with more ram. Whether you are a gamer or student I will always recommend the 32 gb 4070 version because of more ram. More ram allows for a snappier machine when running graphic intensive applications or have many programs and processes running at once. The 16 gb 4060 is a good machine. It’s fast. But it just isn’t enough in my opinion. Hope that helps.

@@5igmaWolf do it!!! The way I think of it is what’s the use case. Casual gaming? Do you need high fps. The x1 is in my top 3 handhelds right now. I won’t say what place until the full review comes out. But so far it’s amazing. X1 = portability and can play most games comfortably. Sure you can achieve Elden ring at 60 gps solid but the battery life is what you’ll be thinking about. Overwatch 2 plays 80+ fps for hours on the right settings. Modern warfare about the same. A gaming laptop plugged in will give you higher fps and better resolution. But it’s not as portable. And will need to be plugged in. Everyone has a different use case. I’m addicted to tech so I have every device imaginable and more coming in weekly. So that’s why I’m going to review everything so others can make decisions based off of my experiences so that they don’t spend unnecessary amounts of money like me lol.

How hot is this thing getting for others? I mean the actual aluminum around the top center of the keyboard. It gets SUPER hot for me, and some of that heat transfers to the screen. I worry it’s going to do damage to the screen. The CPU and GPU temps are fine (never see them above 82 and 70 degrees, respectively). The keyboard always feels pretty cool to the touch, it’s just the aluminum right above the keyboard. It’s actually too hot to touch. Just wondering if this is the norm or if I potentially got a faulty unit? Also, excellent video! I love this thing otherwise too, and it will hurt to return if it turns out that these temps are harmful.

@@BelleBeep interesting. Mine doesn’t get hot at all. Looks like you capped the framerate at 60 in Elden Ring, that's why it doesn't ever drop. That hardware is definitely capable of more at 1080p low settings. This wasn't really a good way to show the laptop's potential. It doesn't make so much sense not to use the full power of a gaming hardware just to make the battery life a bit longer, unless you're really playing on the go. If you're home, just plug it in and enjoy the full quality of your games, otherwise it feels like you just wasted $2k on something that's overkill for your needs.
@GamerVsTech

@@torom86 elden ring has a max fps of 60. Running Elden ring at 60 fps at max settings on a 2.5k resolution laptop is a lot harder than you think. And yes. @@GamerVsTech Sorry, I didn't know it was capped at 60 by default, I play it on PS5. That's an expensive 1440p laptop with good graphics card and a stunning OLED display, so it's definitely overkill if your priority is stretching the battery life at the cost of playing at minimum resolution and settings, IMHO.
