hello! Good job! To disguise these small scratches that are deeper, you can try applying a small amount of acetone with a very, very fine brush! Thanks for the video.

Thanks a lot for making these videos. I just restored a 505-2 following your service videos and it went perfect and fully functional now. I found this 505-2 at a thrift store a year ago and was sittting in my basement waiting for a service, and right now I am listening to it.

Your best sci-fi analogy for when the labor exceeds the value of the operation would be THX1138 where they keep a running tab on the rising cost of bringing their fugitive home.

I have a 1600 mk1 that I stripped to clean and then decided I would take completely apart and respray it, it looks like new now, and I feel good when I remember the sorry state it was in when I got it, I also have a 1600mk2 that has an electronic problem ( and that is not my area ) so I have sent it away for work, I loved your video.

Power cords do make a difference whether a small or big difference in sound. Anyone who thinks other wise should either clean their eyes out with gunk wax or just don't have the ability to hear any difference including they are full of bs.

I check the collar & my RCA cables Since I know my cart is good. I did this and realized my Right Channel Positive has no continuity . So now that I’m aware. How can I fix not having sound on my right channel? ??? Do I open up and check that red wire at the connection. ? Or do I need to place the RCA cables to the board ? Thank you !!! I’m glad I at least know what is wrong

My Yamaha PF-30 has no screws on the top or bottom.🤔😯 The power on lever switch is broken but I can't get to it to replace with another blade toggle switch? Help !!!! 🤓 The Nippon Gakki (Japanese Musical Co. Ltd.) built Yamaha PF-30 turntable has this tiny counterweight on fishing line! Looks impressive going up and down as the arm moves in and out. My guess an anti-skate setup as there's no other adjustments other than tone arm weight? 🤓Cute but fiddly moving the unit around.🤩😂

Goof-off cleaner will break down that glue and it will come rite off. You can get it in most automotive departments. Then go back with alcohol and clean up the goof off residue.

I haven't seen part one. When I did this, I went wth a compnay called "Simply Speakers." they have the exact surrounds for just about any speaker. In addition to the surrounds, they include everything else needed, along with instructions. THey also have videos showing you how it's done.

good job. I know you explained the speaker "fabric" composition. Just wondering if a little "Armour all" protectant ( as used in cars) may bring those "dried" sections of speaker cone back to colour. It may have been just dried out from the IPA. Use a very small amount on very small section at first with Q tip, let dry, and see how it looks.....just a thought.

At the time, the 1216 was the middle model in the Dual family with a 10" platter. The "big" Duals had 12" platters, as befits a sophisticated record player. Nevertheless, the 1216 was not a bad device. However, I am surprised that a Shure M91 is installed here, which is actually in a higher class.

I own a NAD 7020e and only replaced the power supply capacitors because their value had decreased. Indeed "recapping" is a controversial topic. I prefer to measure the ESR value of the capacitors and their value and then decide whether to replace them. Yes, of course they all deteriorate over the years but I take the position that if it ain't broke don't fix it. The degree of deterioration also depends on the position of the capacitor in the circuit and also whether it is next to a component that gets hot and it also depends on the capacitance and voltage of the capacitor. The blind replacement of capacitors originated from the bad capacitor plague of the years 1999 to 2007. Unfortunately this replacement wave has become a hype among HiFi repairers. [EDIT] Still, nice work to salvage this beautiful old receiver.

This easily the best guide on how to install a cartridge on YT. Very detailed and straightforward👌🏻 I've only had experience using a mirrored protractor purchased from turntable lab, but was not aware of the other methods you covered. I do have a question for you: I recently purchased my first technics DD turntable(SL-D2) in great condition for $100. My previous TT was an Akai BT500 that was belt drive. The SL-D2 came with a pickering xv-15(w/ D750 styli?) that sounds pretty damn good, tbh). My other cartridge that was on my akai is a Nagaoka Mp-200. I was about to install it on the technics headshell but noticed the colored wires are in different order than the MP-200. The technics headshell has the Red on the top right & White on top left(headshell facing forward). The nagaoka has Red on the top left and White on the top right. The blue & green are swapped as well. Am I supposed to follow the headshell or the cartridge as the guide, or do I cross the wires and install as shown on either side? This is the first time I've encountered this, so any information would be greatly appreciated!🙏🏻

I wish this was not integrated and only a preamp because I have NAD 272 Stereo Amp and NAD C568 CD player. I was looking into NAD C658 but too pricey. I have the NAD T175 HD 7.1 pre/pro which I use it as s preamp but I still prefer dedicated stereo preamp. I love NAD products for their simplicity but they are far behind in competition for current Home Theater market.

Had a Dual 1219 since in the early 70's and have restored Duals as a hobby for a few years. So much success selling my restored Duals I sold my 1219. Purchased a Fluance RT 84 with a Ortofon Blue cartridge. Very happy with it. Really like having something that just works without frequent maintenance

GUESS we will call you SPEAKER GUY. I use a AAA battery to center the voice coil when doing foams. Never had an issue with VC rub ever. Those speakers would sell between $350 and $500, but would sit forever in the current economy. Worth saving though.

I just moved mine to a new walnut veneer plinth. A bigger project than I expected but it's done and working. I did discover a weak point and was hoping for a comment about what I found. If the tone arm i locked down when the start button is pressed, the mechanism gets stuck such that it won't move anymore. I have to take the bottom off and move the mechanism by hand to get it to reset. Is this normal?

Ok so I'm all for watching new people on youtube and try to keep an open mind. I hate to have it but I have a few gripes... Why didn't you demonstrate the play C change? Doing so would have got you to see the plastic thing that comes out with the tray is to keep you from putting a disc In that spot during the playXchange. There were a few things that frustrated me but that was the one I had to mention. I also do believe that CD player to be not very high end because of the omission of a any kind of digital out, as well as no way for the player to communicate with a receiver or tape player for remote and recording sync. Thank you have a great day keep up the good work.
