One more level to go and next are my favorite levels of Spear of Destiny. The Castle levels. I love all of them except Map20

It's been a lot better than I remembered so far and I think it's gotten better towards the end. I'm looking forward to the castle (not map 20, but I can suffer through it to get to the better parts).

Haha! You certainly have the right to do so. And in all honesty, I think it's down to luck whether the guards go wandering around or not. I played this level a few times, and probably on two out of three times one of the guards was hiding in the blue area after I thought I got them all.

That maze. 89% is also what I got back then. Inaccessible areas. In my sequence, the secret push walls lock up, and in one instance, you can see the side of the metal door as the wall slides. In the 1992 release that I have, the Aardwolf room contains a triangular sign that says to call Apogee for Aardwolf, not a free life.

As far as I know, 89% is the most you can get. I tried different routes, but the maze is designed so that you can never get all the items. When I first played this in the 90s (must've been 1992-1993), it had the Aardwolf sign too. I'm not sure when they changed it. Anyway, I've spent so much time in that maze now that I've decided never to enter it again. 😅

I remember this-never-ending officers. I also finished this with just the knife. I had to find just the right position at the entrance inside the secret room. Slowly but surely...

Good thing there's a surplus of Ammo and Health in this map. other wise you wouldn't use the Chaingun all the way through in a map.

The reason the next map is the 2nd worst map in the game is because its very confusing and you can easily miss kills, and Treasure.

The only thing that bugged me about floor 8 was that sometimes the guards would open doors and walk around and they were difficult to find. It's actually extremely annoying that there's always one guard who gets away, but for some reason it irks me far less than mazes and mutants. But I didn't think the layout was that bad once I figured it out.

I really disliked this one at first because the mutants kept killing me. But it was a good challenge. It's interesting though that compared to this, the next boss fight is really easy.

Not that much. I considered sourcing them from my videos, but decided to download a level editor and ripped the sounds with that because I didn't want to have the gun sounds playing on top of the speech. So basically I muted the game sounds and placed only the screams on the correct places.

It did take quite a bit of time to get good clips of all enemies and edit the whole thing, though. Much longer than I expected.

I absolutely love the purple fushia hallway in this map. It's the most rewarding secret in the Tunnels area.

I liked the color and what was at the end of the tunnel, but not the actual journey. But at least it's just one hallway and you can't get lost. I think I'd like it more if I didn't play this floor over so many times. 😅

@DarkStormYT The correct version is now up. Thanks for cathing my mistake, I owe you! That was very embarrassing. I did one run with god mode on when practicing because I kept missing one treasure and I didn't understand where. When practicing at slower pace, I had already got 100%, but I always missed one when trying faster. After a few attempts I figured that I should just go through the floor without being distracted by the enemies in god mode, and then accidentally uploaded that run instead of the final attempt (the missing treasure was the one behind the first push wall).

No problem, because using God mode is not part of the rule when doing a 100% let's play of Wolfenstein 3D or Doom. I'm not saying this because I don't like god mode, I'm saying it because using god mode makes it very easy and there's no fun in playing that way.

Yeah, I don't really see the point in playing on God mode because you can always adjust the difficulty if the game's too hard. I would feel silly if I posted a video where I'm playing on God mode and claiming that it was some kind of an achievement to get 100%.

Yes, finally! I'm so happy that I managed it on the highest difficulty after all these years. I've already started going through Spear of Destiny, so yes, that'll be next. After that I'm not sure if I'll do another Wolfenstein mod or perhaps try Doom for a change. And you were right, floors 8 and 9 were so much fun!

This is a very confusing map, but its on the average side. But, the next map, oh don't even get me started on the next map which in everyone's opinion is the worst map of the original Wolfenstein 3D

Oh God. I'm not happy about the way I played map 7, and I think I need to redo it, but I don't want to. 😅 But I spent so much extra time because I got lost at one point that I think I need to do better. This map just felt so empty after getting rid of the first batch of enemies.

Despite this being my 4th favorite map in the episode, I still think the concept of the starting area is one of my favorites in the entire game. Find a key to open a door then use that key to get another one and use the second to progress. I love that concept in video games

I liked that too because it feels like there's a reason for finding the keys and you're progressing. It also gives you a reason for going through all the rooms.

I coudn't agree more. The next one had its moments, but it's very hard to find anything good about floor 7. The maze in episode 3 Floor 7 was pretty bad too, though.

Don't worry, Eben though this might be the hardest map in Wolf3D, its not the hardest by any stretch of means if you include the original Spear of Destiny along with the Original Wolf3D (Note: Mission Packs not included)

Also I can get over these wings because there are going along with the green moldy wall textures. But I don't like the fact there are wines in that one secret area in that stone maze in E6M7. I absolutely detest that map.

I've watched a few walkthroughs of E6M7 and it seems that everyone hates it. I haven't even played it yet and I hate it already. I thought I would hate floor 10 as well, but I loved it. It's like solving a puzzle.

You got to save as much health as possible for the mutant section because that's the hardest section and that section alone makes this the hardest map in the game.
