Hi, sorry to hear that. As a last resort, you can edit the date column in excel file itself and recreate the date column in excel using functions like "Date". This will ensure that the date created is matching with your current regional settings. Then import it in power bi again. This time it should work!

No I think you misunderstood. What we are doing here is checking if the original column had data in dd/mm or mm/dd format. Let me give you an example. If row1 has text 03/14/2024 and row2 has text 14/03/2024. The function that we implemented will first try to concatenate each part of the text in a dd/mm/yy format and then convert that to date using Date.FromText, if that gives an error then it concatenate text in a mm/dd/yy format and then use Date.FromText again. However the new column will all have data in one format.

Hi, Try updating your power bi & check the spelling of the functions you are using in your Mquery. Also remember functions in Mquery are case sensitive.

Creating a prod table is considered as a best practice because it gives you the opportunity to revert back to the original data in case you make any errors without running the entire data load process again. 2. We can always do the data cleaning part in power bi, but the problem with that approach is that in case you are working with a team, and all of them are working on the same data. Then each of you would have to do the same cleaning process on each of your files. Also lets assume that after sometime you add a new cleaning step to your file then that steps will have to be implemented on all files again. Hope this helps!

Pardon me if am being slow here, however, regarding the first question, how that production table was created was fast so I didn't get it even though I understand the reasons for the creation considering the fact that am more used to PowerBi than SQL. Regarding the 2nd part, I meant the initial time you were importing the file into SQL you didn't ignore the null values but you later tried to remove them during the query. Is there any special reason to it?

Create a Stored Procedure first and then create a new query. Inside that new query write "Call your_SP_name ()". Save this query and then schedule it as shown in the video. Hope this helps!

Unless you want a table as an output, you would need to use a aggregation function along with the RelatedTable function. Only scenario that I can think of right now where you don't need a aggregation function is when you are actually using the DAX to create a custom table.

Found out the solution. The column "Total" data type was "text" and now its showing but the value doesn't match with yours. Mine is 1.26M

Yes that is the problem, both column name should match exactly, else Power BI will create a duplicate column where rows from other table will show as Null.
